Not recommeded

Todd Stahly and his associate Brittany Frisbie were engaged to represent me in a family court case for additional parenting time. During the 8 months of their engagement, I paid them $11,000 in fees. In exchange, the only substantive step they managed to advance for my case was to file a motion for... the appointment of a CFI. I was advised by both Todd and Brittany to pursue discovery. The opposing party, who was per se, was able to easily deflect the motion, and Stahly and Co then advised me to dismiss the motion after I had spent thousands of dollars in fees. Subsequently, they billed me hundreds of dollars for a letter explaining an issue in my case that could have been addressed with me in a 10-minute phone call. When I called to discuss my concerns with their billing and communication practices, neither Todd or Brittany had the integrity to pick up the phone and discuss my frustrations with their representation.

Would not recommend Todd Stahly

I hired Todd Stahly to represent me in a very lengthy divorce process. I paid him over $100K and never once felt like he was on my side, as expressed in other reviews. In my opinion, he was unprepared at trial and not aggressive. In a two day trial, Todd only made one objection. I believe he is m...ore of a mediating attorney than a trial attorney. I found it hard to communicate with him and get clear answers to my questions throughout the year he represented me. This was my first experience hiring an attorney and I didn't know what to expect. I went on to hire another attorney after Todd, and my experience was very pleasant. I know now that working with an attorney doesn't have to be a difficult or disappointing experience, when you hire the right attorney. I would not recommend attorney Todd Stahly.

Ethical, experienced, and professional

I was so grateful to have Todd represent me through my divorce process. At every point in the process he was ethical, thorough, straightforward, and focused on finding a reasonable solution. I was really impressed by his extensive knowledge and network of professionals in the area who were important... at various stages of the divorce process, and what always impressed me is that every single one of those professionals spoke incredibly highly of Todd. He clearly is known in the field to be trustworthy, consistent, and fair. I don't think I would have gotten the same result out of my divorce proceeding had I used a different lawyer, and will always come back to Todd and his fantastic team with any future legal needs I may have.

If I were getting divorced again, Todd would be my first call

Todd was co-counsel for me on what ended up being a very painful and drawn out divorce... but ultimately we prevailed on everything important. I don't plan to remarry or re-divorce, but if somehow this happened Todd would be my first call. Initially I screened Todd and went with another attorney w...ho was more expensive... I thought I was getting bigger guns. Big mistake. Todd can come off as Boulder-casual but he's actually a total pro--when my case was going sideways Todd was able to come in and turn it around. He did a fantastic job prepping me for depositions and testimony, and was fantastic in front of the court, an arbiter, and in depositions. Todd is someone you can rely on. He does what he says he's going to do when he says he's going to do it, and is a great thought partner and strategic mind in helping navigate big decisions on a case. He doesn't promise you the world in his sales pitch--which is good as you want someone to inject realism into your expectations.

competent, honest, resolution oriented

in a very high conflict divorce with massive disintegrity on the part of the opposing party and the opposing legal representation, Todd was skillful, extremely well prepared, calm, logical, reasoned, and focused on cutting short the war and ending the scorched earth, let's make everything melt down s...trategy the opposing firm had, which inflated legal fees well beyond the reasonable norm for a divorce of this nature. While the Colorado Bar advised me when I attempted, unsuccessfully, to file a complaint against the opposing attorney, that the opposing attorney NOT lying on behalf of his client would be an act of misrepresentation, Todd has higher ethical standards than that. He advised me to not ever stoop to the level of the opposition, and his ethics stand him and his reputation in good stead with the revolving door of ill-prepared, often novice judges Boulder County Courts parades through divorce cases. For a very fair, ethical, meticulous and strategic lawyer who seeks to arrive at a fair, speedy and efficient outcome, Todd is highly recommended.
