Brett Michael Eliasen grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and attended the University of Wisconsin for his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He then attended the University of Colorado School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate.
While in law school, Mr. Eliasen was the Vice President of his class and an active member of the Barrister’s Counsel. He worked in the Criminal Defense Clinic, representing clients from the beginning of the legal process through its resolution. Prior to joining the Law Office of Jacob E. Martinez, he worked for two experienced solo criminal defense practitioners, where he gained valuable experience, including researching and writing a successful Petition for Certiorari to the Colorado Supreme Court.
Mr. Eliasen has a reputation for being a hard-worker for and a compassionate representative of his clients. He treats each and every client with the respect and courtesy they deserve and fights for them in the courtroom. He recognizes that although arrested, a person is presumed innocent in our system. He fights to ensure each client starts with that presumption of innocence. While seeking the dismissal of each case, Mr. Eliasen is also prepared to, if necessary, take the case to trial and defend the rights of his clients to the jury.
