Simply put - the best....

Innocent until proven guilty exists as a theory only. Pursuit of the truth has taken a backseat to public perception and career advancement, and your only hope to reverse the tide of conviction is competent counsel. Enter Nikea Bland. She understands how to play the game, is well versed in legales...e, and is able to communicate in laymens terms about what is happening and where things are headed. Nikea was always upfront with me about my situation, and always asked for my input as to how best to preceed. All of these things were appreciated, however, it was in the courtroom where Nikea earned her money and my utmost respect. From the opening arguments, Nikea took control and ran the show. Her understanding of the case and applicable law was spot on, and the Prosecuting Attorney was simply outclassed. The result? Victory! Nikea never stopped fighting for me, even when it seemed the deck was stacked against, she never quit. I have an unending amount of respect for Nikea, and can't recommend her highly enough.

An Attorney of this Quality is a Rare Find

My husband and I hired Nikea Bland last year as our son’s defense attorney. Ms. Bland went beyond her duties as our son’s attorney. She was informative, always available and most importantly, she really cared. I was very distraught and did not want my son to go to prison for 10 years, which was th...e potential sentence. Ms. Bland took the time to weed through the complicated nature of our son’s case by requesting documents and thoroughly reviewing them and interviewing crucial people close to the case. Despite the low odds, Ms. Bland was ready and willing to take the case to trial, if it was deemed necessary. Because of Ms. Bland’s integrity, dedication and firm advocacy, the case was settled favorably. We were elated and so was our son. Ms. Bland is a very competent, knowledgeable and effective attorney. She was upfront with us, she informed us of all stages of the proceedings, and advised us of potential risks and benefits. Although my husband and I were not the official clients, Ms. Bland was accessible to my son and us, at all time. I was also very impressed with the compassionate way that we were treated, and we will forever be grateful for her kindness and willingness to help us. We highly recommend Ms. Bland to anyone that seeks an attorney with integrity, experience, knowledge, and one who has her clients' best interest at heart; an attorney of this quality is a rare find.

Professional compassion at its best

When my teenage son was arrested I began looking for Juvenile Criminal Defense Lawyers right away. I spoke with a dozen or so over the phone and met with a few in person. None of them came across as having what I was looking for, which was the Professional Compassion needed to handle a case as sensit...ive and serious as my sons. When I spoke with Nikea I knew I had found the right lawyer right away. She was very respectful, and empathetic to my state of mind dealing with all the stress of the first few days after the arrest. She gave me some very reassuring facts about the reality of cases similar to my sons and possible outcomes, good or bad. She met with my son and I together but treated him with the utmost respect and made it very clear to him that her job was to look out for his best interest and provide him with the best defense possible. She made him feel like he wasn't alone in his struggle to prove his innocence anymore. She is very knowledgable and has been very proactive, recommending some great professionals for case related needs ( evaluations & court ordered therapies) as well. She keeps us informed on where we are in the process of the case and what we need to do next. I have been very pleasantly surprised by how much easier it is to find our way through the judicial system now that we have the right Navigator on our side.

Disappointing/unproductive experience

I contacted O'Malley law firm after doing a basic web search when was contacted by sheriff's deputies in November 2011. I spoke to Kyle Sawyer, set up a consultation, and met with Nikea Bland and Kyle Sawyer. They studied law books during our meeting and determined that I had not committed a crime. ...Ms. Bland took over my representation entirely at that point and spoke to law enforcement on my behalf. No charges were filed, and I requested a refund in January 2012. My money (minus reasonable charges for calls) was returned with slight hassle. The female receptionist, Jennifer, should be avoided. She is extremely rude; quite confrontational and curt. Most of my encounters with her were by telephone and very unpleasant, She had a better attitude in person but was still standoffish. I spoke to the principal of the firm , Terry O'Malley, about my concern and he seemed to be genuinely apologetic and interested. I contacted Nikea Bland again for defense in June 2012 against criminal charges including a felony that were related to the case for which I had originally retained O'Malley Law Firm. I was admonished for coming back to the firm after firing another attorney who was less expensive and more sympathetic to me but disappointing and ineffective. I bypassed Kyle Sawyer this time, but saw him in the office when I visited. Ms. Bland said defensively "he's still around" when I inquired about his role in my business with O'Malley Law Office. She again consulted law books during our meetings, used legal jargon, and often seemed to be following a textbook procedure. She reiterated frequently her intent to be open, that all my case files were mine, and seemed to request direction from me although I had hired her for legal advice. She became visibly stressed when I attempted to initiate a discussion about case strategy. I did not feel confident with my representation as my case developed. Ms. Bland communicated frequently via text message (SMS) without gaining my approval. Communication was sporadic and vague. She was moody; aloof and terse then friendly and supportive in the same day. She did offer to represent me for free in an unrelated traffic accident case that was pending at the same time as my criminal case. She criticized me frequently for my social skills. She was impatient when I tried to communicate facets in me case and facts about my situation. She chided me for not cooperating when I remained silent. She feigned ignorance when I tried to get clear responses to questions that were very urgent in my opinion and often neglected questions altogether. She seemed sympathetic towards the opposition and chastised me for not being sympathetic to the plaintiff's perspective. She engaged in spats that detracted from our business. I left several messages for the principal, Terry O'Malley, requesting mediation and was subsequently threatened by Ms. Bland with her withdrawal from my case. I never actually spoke to Terry O'Malley but was unfortunately subjected to the poor attitude of the receptionist, Jennifer, on multiple occasions. The situation became intolerable because of continuous personal differences and I eventually discovered that she was not providing me with updates of her activities. I have terminated our representation arrangement and sought alternative counsel.
