Biography
With nearly twenty years of courtroom experience, Tom Ward’s law practice is devoted to protecting the rights of those accused of crimes. Tom is a founding partner of McDermott Stuart & Ward LLP, a criminal defense and civil litigation firm located in Denver, Colorado. At the firm, he diligently and aggressively represents his clients in charges ranging from serious felonies to misdemeanors and traffic offenses. Tom has years of experience protecting his clients from loss of freedom, financial harm, and damage to career and reputation. His criminal defense practice includes but is not limited to, drug offenses, sexual assault, white-collar crimes, homicide, assault, juvenile crimes, weapons offenses, DUI, traffic, domestic violence, theft, and forgery. He also represents his clients in criminal appeals and post-conviction matters.
Tom graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1997. After a brief tenure with the ACLU of Colorado, he served as a Deputy State Public Defender for the Colorado Public Defender’s Office. He founded his own firm, The Ward Law Firm, PC, in 2001. As a sole practitioner, he built a great reputation for providing top-notch criminal defense representation to individuals and corporations in a variety of state and federal cases.
Recognized by his peers as one of the top attorneys in his field, Tom has been named to the Colorado Super Lawyers list for many years. He is also AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and listed in the Best Lawyers in America as one of the top lawyers in Colorado in the area of White Collar Criminal Defense.

Excellent Choice
Attorney Tom Ward handled a very sticky case for my son resulting from a bar scuffle that got out of hand.
