DV Charge

I was facing some serious charges including assault, battery, and destruction of property. I was referred to Mike by another attorney. Mike took care of my case at a very reasonable price and all charges were dropped today. Even though I don’t plan to get anymore trouble, I will always have Mike on ...standby. Definitely would recommend him for anyone facing criminal charges!

Arrogance is not a virtue

Mike accomplished nothing and was payed upfront. I had more evidences to substantiate my innocence. What does he do? To attend court via telephone, instead of inside courtroom, to present my evidence of innocence. When phone noise doesn’t allow me to hear what I’m agreeing to, he tells me to shut up.... It’s on tape. This man’s arrogance, or prejudice, shouldn’t be allowed and should be disbarred.

Work Ethics

I hired Michael Mccullough to represent my son on a very serious criminal case. Mr. Mccullough did very little to help my son, but he made sure to collect. First of all, Mccullough advised my son not to get a jury, which now we now was a big mistake because of the charge my son was facing. Then ...did not let us know about no hearing, til this day i do not know who attended, besides him. For the Trial, he did not get any kind of evidence to help my son, for example the phone records, medical records, etc. he did nothing, we had to search for the telephone records ourselves and tried to use them as evidence, but were not allowed to be used since they were not legal. Mike should have requested them from t-mobile. He avoided the medical records. At the last minute , we found a picture, showing my son’s injury on his hand, the hand that he supposedly used for the crime. He did not hire an investigator, like he said he was. Needless to say my son was found guilty, with a Judge jury, and was sentenced 4 to life. How in the world do you advise someone not to get a jury with a very serious charge. Next was the 34B. When the Judge sentenced my son, he invited my son back to court after he was diagnosed at DOC, to see if a reduction in his sentenced would be possible. Well, McCullough did not bother to get the diagnostic report from DOC, for the hearing, he made no effort, so needless to say again, my son was denied the 34B motion, and is now serving 4 to life sentence, my son was 33 when he started to serve his time. I think about Mr. McCullough work ethics constantly, and came to the conclusion that Mr. McCullough never had any intentions what so ever in working on my son’s case, all he wanted was the money.

Garret

Someone had used my name which resulted in me being charged in Denver. If the charge had stuck, I would have lost my job that I have had for several years. I went to see Mike in his office, we had a long conversation and Mike explained to me that I shouldn't worry because he felt he might be able t...o get the case dismissed. On the first court date, Mike came to Denver County Court reviewed the facts of the case with me and spent five minutes talking to the D.A.. He came over to me and said the case was being dismissed. I could not believe it.I would recommend Mike to anyone. He is a man of his word, he gets things done, and he charges a very fair price. Thanks Mike.

Mike I can't thank you enough!

Mike handled my son's case when my son was accused of a crime that he didn't commit; and had he been convicted ,it would have sent him away for a very long time and destroyed his life (and ours). after a long hard fight, Mike got the case dropped, for which we are extremely grateful. this guy is no p...ushover, he will Really Fight for you! I sent two other people to Mike, and he was successful with them as well. Mike is a extremely competent, very aggressive, well respected, and reasonably priced attorney. I can't thank him enough for what he did for us, and I recommend him without hesitation!

Relationship: Co-worker

"I absolutely endorse this lawyer. I've worked with Mr. McCullough on numerous cases over the past 15 years. I have given him some of my firm's toughest cases and watched him win. On occasion, some people can find Mr. McCullough obnoxious. If you looking for an attorney who will win a personality contest, don't hire him. If you are in trouble and need an attorney who knows how to win a tough case, Mr. McCullough is one of the finest trial attorneys in Denver - especially in front of a jury. Mr. McCullough is both passionate and persuasive. If you want an attorney who is going to fight for your rights, Mr. McCullough fits that bill. Mr. McCullough's clients get 100 cents worth of every dollar they may spend on his services."

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2012.

Suspension Stayed Placed on Probation issued in CO, 2012

updated on 03/28/2017

Suspension stayed means the attorney has been disciplined, but that the suspension is placed on hold (and ultimately removed) if the attorney complies with probation requirements.

Michael’s comment:

“This discipline resulted from a former client requesting $2500 back a year after my involvement in the case ended. I offered him $2000, he wanted it all back - because I didnt give it all back, I recieved this grievance.”
