Connecting with James took some time, but once we did, it was clear that he approaches both his life and work with integrity and transparency. The consultation more than exceeded my expectations. Mr. Scurlock is to the point, advising what can be done, as well as offering your options depending on what level of representation you want. He also took time to explain the law and provide detail. Most amazing about this attorney, is he asked the... right questions, and when he discovered that my contract is actually governed by another state, he told me and explained why, and how to find others. I was in awe of the level of concern and detail, even once he realized that he could not help me. If I ever need a lawyer in Texas, I would absolutely call him first. Highly recommend.

Mr. Scurlock responded to my questions very fast and even called me to further discuss my legal situation. James Scurlock raises the Bar for all other Attorneys! Yes, pun intended. My last attorney screwed me bad, cost me $29K and accomplished almost nothing for over a year. After a bizarre meltdown he abruptly quit. So I was left with a really messy open lawsuit. I needed to find an attorney that co...uld make sense of the ugly mess I was left with. So I started calling and calling. Obviously, I was very skeptical of every attorney I spoke with. But then I spoke with Mr. James Scurlock. I thought my case was just a business contract dispute, but after a very thorough review of my ugly case, including consulting other attorneys, Mr. Scurlock determined that the best direction for my case should include a divorce. (FYI, don’t start a business with your wife!) In full honesty and transparency Mr. Scurlock suggested an attorney with family law experience and he stated that was not part of his practice. We went over every angle possible angle to make it a just a business suit, but Mr. Scurlock concluded it was not the best option. I mentioned that I had previously consulted with an attorney who does both business and family, he suggested I again talk to him for consideration. He even said if it doesn’t work out and I still need a lawyer to file a response to the Defendant’s motion to give him a call back and he would figure something out so I don’t miss my hearing date. I could tell he was serious, he meant it, he was not just saying it to get me off the phone. During the time of our fairly lengthy consultation I was impressed with his deep legal knowledge, vibrant passion for the law, and the willingness to turn down a case if it could be handled better by another attorney. I can’t tell how good I felt consulting with a very competent and sincere individual after getting screwed for $29K by a jackass. Yes, James Scurlock WILL be the first business attorney I’ll call next time. Not only did I get James is decent person, he’s also a someone I would invite out to have a beer!
