also known as Ivan Friedman, Ivan 'Buddy' Friedman
I am board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and have been practicing family law in South Central Texas since 1993, with offices in San Marcos and San Antonio, and previously in Gonzales, Lockhart and Seguin as well.
I grew up in Austin and attended public schools there from elementary school to high school, returning to get my law degree from the University of Texas in 1992. I am an avid Longhorn and Spurs fan, and enjoy outdoor activities in Central and South Texas such as swimming, hiking, biking, and riding waves at Port Aransas and South Padre.
My wife Lesli (from Seguin) and I were married in 2007 after meeting at the Texas Capitol and I have three children. I attend St. Mark's Episcopal Church in San Marcos where I am currently a member of the vestry and Senior Warden and donate time and money to the Hays/Caldwell Women's Shelter and Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid.

As a licensed attorney for 30 years, when it came time to seek an attorney to represent me in my divorce, I knew exactly what I needed. I wanted someone who was board certified in family law, respected by the local judiciary and legal community, and would be a fierce advocate. I found all this, and...
"I endorse this lawyer. i know Buddy as a fellow lawyer in the community and I have worked on some of the same cases where we had co-defendants. He is a genuine lawyer that cares about his clients. I trust his professional expertise. In fact he is currently representing my daughter-in-law."
"I endorse Ivan Friedman wholeheartedly. I met Ivan while we both attended law school at UT in 1990. We have been friends since that time. I have watched Ivan in the courtroom and in the legal community for the past twenty years. Ivan has a great reputation as a trial lawyer and his ethics are beyond reproach. I regularly refer family law and administrative law cases to Ivan and would not hesitate to hire Ivan to represent me. Ivan is truthful and has strong character. He is also knowledgeable in a number of legal fields. I highly recommend and endorse my good friend, Ivan Friedman."
