Couldn't have done it without her

You can imagine the kind of strength, guidance, and support needed to get through a divorce in 2020. Lisa provided all three. She gave me excellent advice, managing my expectations and keeping me realistic. She explained the ins-and-outs of the divorce process and when I needed clarity. She was stron...ger than I was at times when it came to my ex, quick to protect my best interests. She worked to make sure I felt comfortable with her direction and satisfied with the results. And she did it all with a mind of not costing me more than I needed to spend. I whole-heartedly recommend Lisa Richardson as a divorce attorney.

The very best

I met Lisa for a low cost consultation once and then a second time for a follow up. Lisa is compassionate and took the time to understand what I was hoping to accomplish in my divorce. She is straightforward, and gave me hope for a future beyond divorce. Her care and concern for the children were al...so her top priority. I did not hire Lisa, due to the amount of the retainer.( My husband and I agree on all terms of the divorce, and hoped that the divorce could be done for less) However, I'm forever grateful for her wisdom, time and encouragement. Her staff is also very friendly too!

Ms. Richardson Turned my Divorce Horror Story into a Happy Ending

Facing what I knew was going to be a bitter divorce, I came to attorney Lisa Richardson lost, bewildered and literally shaking in fear. After extensive research for a competent attorney, I chose Lisa based great reviews from her clients, but it was the reviews from her opposing council that made my d...ecision. If attorneys who’d battled her in court gave her rave reviews, I knew I’d made the right choice. I’d warned Lisa this was likely going to be a long and difficult divorce, and was honest with her about the skeletons in my own closet, and would understand if she didn’t want to take the case. Undaunted and up for the challenge, she sat down with me and explained in detail the steps we’d take to get me out of this mess, and what I could expect from beginning to bitter end. My then-husband had the audacity to demand I sign the original, ridiculous decree his attorney had drawn up, claiming we weren’t married, had no community property and that all our assets belonged to him, including our $700,000 house. He also demanded we use the same attorney, which would have been a huge mistake, as she did not have my best interest at heart. My ex filed for divorce just days after my mother died, and while I was out of town planning her funeral. He was attempting kick me when I was down and most vulnerable. He actually picked me up from my mother’s funeral and presented me with the decree and took me straight to the notary to sign it before I even had time to dry the tears from losing my mother. He told me we had to use the same attorney, it’d already been drawn up and there was “really no reason to read it.” I couldn’t believe bald-face lies stated in the decree. I turned to him and said, “Do you really know what this means? That I’d be homeless and living under a bridge?” He said, “You’re a smart girl. You’ll figure it out.” I was so intimidated that I went into the notary, and shaking, started to sign it. The notary read the decree, then looked up at me with shock and asked me if I understood what I was going to be signing. Then she read it aloud to me, word for word, and asked again, “Do you really want to sign this? Do you understand what this means? I’m not an attorney, but I think you should really get your own lawyer and get some advice.” He was outraged when I when I didn't do as I was told and immediately just sign that he told me I couldn’t come home until I agreed. He’d told me I was a smart girl and figure it out? Well, I did figure it out. I met and retained Attorney Lisa Richardson. Smartest move I ever made. Lisa stood up to this bully and not only stood by me, she charged ahead, pulling no punches, enduring the barrage of ranting, bullying emails he sent to both Lisa and me. Not only did Lisa never back down, she took the bull by horns and fearlessly fought for me. My ex didn’t know what hit him. He’d originally refused to go to mediation, but through arduous negotiation, Lisa forced him to do just that. She arranged the mediation in such a way I not only didn’t have to sit across the table from him, I didn’t even have to see him. Knowing he was angry and unreasonable, Lisa shrewdly arranged to have a judge perform the mediation, saving me the anguish and expense of actually taking this all the way to court. I leaned on her courage, followed her advice and am happily finally free of this tyrant. I highly recommend Lisa and her team. I couldn’t have done this without her. Lisa turned what could have been a horror story into a happily ever after.

Best decision I ever made!

My attorney Lisa Richardson and her team did an excellent job representing me from the time I hired them to the the time the judge ruled in my favor. My ex wife filed suit to lift our geographical restrictions we had agreed on concerning where our son would live when we got divorced. Lisa went above... and beyond to provide me with all the information I needed to to make sure that I would win my case. I had consistent and timely communication with both Lisa and her team throughout the entire process. I was always provided with the exact information I needed to make sure deadlines were met and the right decisions were being made. When we we finally got in front of the judge Lisa showed pure professionalism, knowledge and passion. She was more prepared than I could have ever imagined and was very organized and ready for whatever was brought our way. After two days of trial in Travis County not only did I win but I was also awarded over 50% of my attorney fees to be paid by my ex wife. I can not say enough about what a great job Lisa did for me and would 100% recommend her services to anyone who needs it. I am forever great full for all your hard work and dedication!

"Lisa Richardson recently mediated one of my complicated family law cases. This case needed a strong, knowledgeable mediator. We had already been to another mediator (well known) without any movement toward settlement. Despite all indications that this case would not settle, Lisa Richardson settled the case. Her abilities as a mediator are unmatched in my opinion and I will continue to use her well into the future. I highly endorse this lawyer."
