Damn good lawyer

He handled my divorce and child custody battle. I got my son and what i wanted. My ex husband and his lawyer didnt know what hit them! He gave me a GREAT payment plan deal. He is very understanding and his office team is very nice! I highly recommend him! And he gives you back whatever money he doesn...'t use!

Poster for BAD attorney

Starts by saying we got the worst judge on the docket and that will cost you (the client) more money. He works only by cell but does not return calls. Business card does not show e-mail. Uses a rent an office where rent-a- secretary admits "poor cell reception". Then he charges you for not calling h...im. Charges clients for postage, copies and for driving to court to represent you. Promises a successful outcome then gets to court and never says a word. Upon leaving the court asks for more Money to continue to fight this case. If you refuse to pay more he files a Motion for withdrawal from your case. if you agree to the withdrawal Mr. Izzo sends you an outrageous bill with fee's you never agreed to and of course the 3000.00 retainer did not cover. And this experience happened in a space of 2 weeks.

I was saddened to see the above post a few days ago and thought that I would respond. I knew who this individual was as soon as I read the post. Unfortunately, attorneys will upon occasion encounter clients who have unreasonable expectations, or who turn out not to be truthful causing their attorney to withdraw from their case. Sometimes these individuals respond by attempting to slander the attorney’s good name, since a bar complaint would be futile if the attorney did nothing wrong. My response to this individual’s comments follows: 1) I have never told anyone that a particular judge, “will cost you more money” … that does not even make sense. 2) I do not work only by cell. Our main office number is 512-218-9292 and my paralegal Dahlia fields our lawyer calls. Unlike many other attorneys, I DO give my clients my personal cell phone number so that they might reach me in an emergency 3) Of course lawyers charge for postage, copies and mileage. These items appear plainly in our employment contract which every client executes and they represent legitimate business expenses on behalf of our clients. 4) In all of the years I have practiced as a licensed attorney in good standing with the Bar in Texas, I have NEVER promised a successful outcome. That is unethical and again nonsensical. An attorney can provide an estimate of a particular client’s chances for success, but if the client is untruthful; the opposing party has better facts; witnesses fail to appear, or the judge simply has a different take on the above referenced facts … then a less than desirable outcome may result. I ALWAYS discuss case facts with new clients and try to supply a reasonable assessment of their chances for success. 5) Finally, retainers will vary depending on each particular case. If a matter is settled quickly, funds remaining in trust for a client are refunded. If a case is progressing, and the initial retainer is used up, it needs to be supplemented. Civil attorneys are paid hourly and fees are dependent on the complexity of each case. For example, if a matter requires two or more temporary hearings, mediation and a final hearing, it will cost significantly more than one which settles after two opposing attorneys talk and their clients agree to settle. An attorney that cares

John handled my divorce and did an excellent job. My children were my biggest concern and John did everything he could to help in that regard. It took some time, but in the end, I was awarded primary custody and we had a female judge.

Second Time Around

John Izzo and his team went far and above the call of duty with our adoption of our daughter, which she was abandoned in our home at three months of age. John Izzo and his team fought tooth & nail from early 2010 to late 2011. And now here we are again from 2014 and pending to Aug. 10, 2015 in adopti...ng our grandson. In a heartbeat without even thinking if in need again we will use Izzo law firm.

Wow! An attorney that genuinely cares about you!

I had used John's services in the past for some business related items and was pleased with both the service and his character so the choice to retain him for my divorce was an easy one to make. A divorce is never easy and some very tough decisions must be made. I had to make a lot of these during ...my divorce proceedings and did not always see clearly when presented with the options. I will even say that I did not always agree with John's advice, but he turned out to be right every time. After accepting that I was wrong on some items, I came to realize that the best lawyers don't tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear. He and I both got emotional at times, but this was refreshing as other attorneys I have dealt with in the past were always so business like. I pray that I will never have to, but I would not hesitate to use his services again as I think he has and demonstrates real sympathy for his clients.
