My Experience

Jo is amazing. I had a court appointed attorney for over a year and was unable to contact him once, even though I consistently called, texted, and emailed him and I would call the Court Office as well. I found out that he was also pleading guilty on my behalf without consulting me. However, after tal...king with Jo, my charge was dropped after just a month, and it could have been sooner if I was more available. She replies within a day to all emails and was constantly working for a better arrangement even after getting a deal with the prosecutor. I would recommend Jo to anyone and I am incredibly thankful for all her work, she saved my life and my relationship with my family.

Give “court appointed” a chance!!

Amongst the legal situation I was in, I was anything but hopeful. Jo made it clear that she was going to do everything she could to help me. I am a fully tattoo covered 21 year old whom most people assume is up to no good at first glance, Jo did nothing of the sort. She saw me for the human being tha...t I am from the get go! instead of giving up on me like most, she took the case head on and treated it as any other case. She showed me that I deserved a second chance and by the grace of god and Jo’s hard work.. I was given just that. To anyone who has concerns or doubts about hiring a court appointed attorney, I hope everything I’ve said here changed your mind.

Excellent Experience

February 1st I found myself in a legal situation I never expected to be in but there I was in it, lost, uneducated and confused on how to get out of it. Felt torn between hiring an attorney¸ which to be honest is most peoples first option due to the stigma that surrounds court appointed attorneys, no...ne the less I took a chance and went with a court appointed attorney and was beyond satisfied with her efforts and attention to my case right off the bat. Jo Poenitzsch was my attorney, she struck me as someone who makes it her sole mission to fight for you and your rights, a very strong individual, someone you really want on your team to fight for you despite the circumstances. Communication between her and I was always very open, she was available for all my concerns and my million questions, broke it all down for me and eased my mind when she could. I felt beyond confident to basically hand over my rights to my own life to her and trusted her to handled it the best way she could, she did not disappoint. My experience in this situation changed my opinion drastically of court appointed attorneys, there are good ones out there, doing their job passionately and for all the right reasons. Forever beyond grateful.

Jo, The only lawyer you will ever need!

Jo Poenitzsch was a beacon of hope to my family at a time when our options appeared limited and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution seemed impossible. Jo was the 3rd lawyer I hired and 4th to work with. She not only shocked me but exceeded all expectations. Jo made the impossible, possible. I... didn't know lawyers like her existed. Not only was she able to defend us from an unjust accusation, her calm and empathetic demeanor offered emotional succor to myself and those I care about most. My children and I are eternally grateful for her service and I hereby recommend Jo without reservation. She is an amazing person and by far the best lawyer out there.
