February 1st I found myself in a legal situation I never expected to be in but there I was in it, lost, uneducated and confused on how to get out of it. Felt torn between hiring an attorney¸ which to be honest is most peoples first option due to the stigma that surrounds court appointed attorneys, no...ne the less I took a chance and went with a court appointed attorney and was beyond satisfied with her efforts and attention to my case right off the bat. Jo Poenitzsch was my attorney, she struck me as someone who makes it her sole mission to fight for you and your rights, a very strong individual, someone you really want on your team to fight for you despite the circumstances. Communication between her and I was always very open, she was available for all my concerns and my million questions, broke it all down for me and eased my mind when she could. I felt beyond confident to basically hand over my rights to my own life to her and trusted her to handled it the best way she could, she did not disappoint. My experience in this situation changed my opinion drastically of court appointed attorneys, there are good ones out there, doing their job passionately and for all the right reasons.
