Recent DWI Trial Victory
Dec 02, 2013OUTCOME: Not Guilty
We defended the director of a nonprofit organization in San Antonio who was responsible for obtaining assistance for low-income families. The client was in his 20s. His job was his entire life. He ha ... d no children and was not married. The Board of Directors at his nonprofit warned him, "If you do not beat the case, you will be fired. Immediately upon conviction you'll be terminated." His case involved three experienced police officers from the San Antonio Police Department. Everything was captured on video. The first obstacle we had to overcome was the fact that he confessed on video that he had “f$%ed up really bad.” This victory sticks out in our mind because the lead officer, who was probably one of the most trained SAPD policemen, kept laughing at David Volk when he would make legal objections. David’s first question to the policeman was, "What's so funny? Is doing my job that funny to you?" After attacking the policeman’s credibility on the witness stand and having our client give honest, sincere testimony, the jury found him NOT GUILTY. Our client kept his job and got a second chance. Wins like this drive our passion for DWI defense.
