Matthew J. Obermeier

Although I am a retired physician and not an attorney, I was very favorably impressed by Matthew Obermeier who was very kind to meet me on two separate occasions to review my case and even give me a second opinion on the work done by another attorney. Upon my preparing to write a check for his time,... he elegantly declined any payment. My previous attorney charged me for 9 hours of research on a single matter of eviction. He spent 20 minutes telling me exactly what the previous attorney took 9 hours of research. I would describe him as an iron fist in a velvet glove, which is exactly what is needed in debating in front of a jury or judge. His elegant demeanor and character fits very well with the tenor, aura and atmosphere of the firm.

I hired Matt for a retaliatory eviction. It was very simple. He had not prepared for trial at all and appeared to be more on the Plaintiffs side than mine. I'm in worse shape now because of matts negligence, breach of contract not to mention his rudeness, and yelling and demanding I sign something... I never agreed to. He refused to even write a brief in my defense or review my file on my innocence. I DO NOT RECOMMEND MATT OBERMEIER OR HIS FIRM.

I never write reviews, but my experience with Mr. Obermeier has been so positive that I wanted to share. I have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Obermeier on several occasions. I initially contacted him for a consultation regarding a Landlord/Tenant Lease Agreement issue, in which he schedule...d a time to meet with me in a very prompt manner. During our initial consultation, Mr. Obermeier was polite, thorough, and sincere. It was evident that his commitment to support, advise, and meet his clients’ needs is paramount; he is extremely knowledgeable in multiple areas, and displays sympathy and compassion. Mr. Obermeier ultimately represented me, in which his ability and skill were both indisputable. Mr. Obermeier’s prowess is distinct. I have continued to utilize his services for support with real estate deeds/estate planning, and he has remained efficient while providing exceptional service. I have a huge amount of respect for Mr. Obermeier; his professionalism, expertise, and persistence are superior. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone seeking an experienced expert!

I first hired Matt Obermeier a few years ago concerning an issue where my landlord was suing me for treble damages for a broken lease agreement. I did not feel there was much hope of winning the case. Matt represented me in small claims court and requested a jury trial. We won! I was impressed with... his thorough and competent professionalism. He was prepared, kind and patient, even toward the plaintiff. Last year, I again retained Matt’s services. This time I was suing someone for a loan repayment. Again, Matt impressed me with his thoroughness and kindness. He was articulate and displayed great ability to think clearly and creatively on his feet. Due to his expertise and competence, the defendant is now repaying the loan. Two weeks ago I contacted Matt on an immigration issue for a friend. He had a sincere desire to help and was conscientious in telling me he is not skilled in that area of law. He referred me to attorney, Ramón Curiel, who was prompt in returning my call and setting up my friend with an attorney who immediately helped him. I believe that Matt is an exceptional lawyer and have no hesitation in giving him the highest recommendation!

My daughter was in a bad situation. She was being taken advantage of by her landlord since it was her first apartment. I have a list of things they've done against the lease and the law but they started hassling her when she pays rent on time and is hardly home. The situation was made more serious wh...en an ex started following and threatening her. It didn't qualify as stalking to be able to be let out of the lease. Mr. Obermeier gave me realistic legal advice but decided to assist us anyway, Pro Bono. We had already done our part by the law to prepare. All it took was a frank letter from him and the landlord backed off, spoke to my daughter respectfully, and let her out of her lease. She was able to move and hasn't seen the crazy ex. I feel better now that she is safe. They even gave her deposit back with out any funny business. He will be my friends', family's and my lawyer for anything remotely near San Antonio. Thank you again!
