Organized, Professional, Knowledgeable, Thorough

Stacy is an outstanding Attorney and I would highly recommend her. She was extraordinarily professional from the first consultation and it was clear that even though she is a busy and successful lawyer my case would be a priority. She came highly recommended from a friend who was also going throu...gh the same process I was about to start and was extremely happy with Stacy and her staff. In my own case, I was a bit distraught and unsure since I was still reeling from having completely unexpected and contentious divorce proceedings filed against me. She was professional and reassuring that WE could get through it. I immediately hired her to handle the divorce and have been pleased ever since. She rapidly and efficiently filed motions, followed up with the opposing attorney, and drove my case to a positive resolution. She organized the required family study, she filed the appropriate motions, and proposed both mediation and nominated the areas finest mediators who cleared their schedules to work with Stacy. Stacy accompanied me on two separate mediation efforts and remained constant and steadfast throughout the all day negotiations despite the difficult personalities representing the other side. She was patient and helpful throughout those processes and actually had significantly more knowledge than opposing counsel and helped him understand the intricacies of our case and the most expeditious way to come to resolution. Throughout the mediation efforts, Stacy was clearly willing and able to take these proceedings to trial. The other side and the mediators realized that would have resulted in another victory for her. But, she was focused on my objective to find middle ground through mediation and avoid the family pain of a trial. Both times the mediator (two separate, excellent professionals) praised her skill, ability, and willingness to effectively find common ground, create necessary written agreements on the spot, and eventually drive a resolution that was positive for her client (me) and acceptable to the opposition. Stacy and her outstanding staff then went to work creating and verifying the documentation required to codify and conclude the agreements we reached through mediation. This required a lot of effort and follow up and Stacy and her folks continually followed up with opposing counsel -- who was difficult to deal with. Despite that, they got all the requisite documents we needed completed in record time and was prepared to go to court to finalize the divorce ahead of schedule. She personally accompanied me to the courthouse to complete the process and was kind and understanding of the gravity and finality of the proceedings. The other side did not appear. Stacy has continued to advise me and my family concerning the implementation of all the agreements and has provided excellent advice as the other side has tried to find ways around the agreements made in mediation. She has sent countless emails, official correspondence, and spent time on the phone to work with opposing counsel to provide the right documents and to ensure compliance with the agreements she helped negotiate. I will continue to rely on Stacy going forward and when I have additional family law requirements she will be the first person I call for help. Further, if my friends, business associates, or neighbors need a top drawer family lawyer Stacy will get my strongest referral. In short, Stacy Goodbread and her exceptional staff guided me through one of the most difficult periods of my life. They were professional, effective, efficient, as well as kind and caring. Stacy and her team made a really challenging situation more bearable. In the end, though this is not where I would have wanted to find myself, Stacy's work meant in the end my interests were protected and my family and I will be forever grateful to her.

Custody Battle

July 2016 I hired Stacy for what I assumed would be standard establishment of paternity. As a Veteran and someone who has never had any negative legal interactions I was completely unprepared for what ensued. What I failed to realize, at the time, was that the other parent did not have intentions of ...willingly allowing me to play a role in my child's life. This began a year long campaign in which I had to defend every aspect of my life. Any father going through the family court system will quickly realize that they will be be disadvantaged. This requires patience, tenacity, and the willingness to fight and prove that you are someone that deserves to be in your child's life. Stacy is the single reason I was able to succeed at preventing the other parent from continuing to alienate me. Stacy refused to allow this to happen. From day one she filed motions and compelled the other side to comply with our court orders or risk litigation. Stacy never allowed me to be taken advantage of and refused to allow me to give up hope, even when I became hopeless. Ultimately, Stacy was able to mediate a settlement with the other side and got me a very favorable outcome. I would never want anyone else to defend me in family court. Stacy and her entire office made my case their business and I felt like family. I am eternally grateful for Stacy and her wonderful staff.

Best family lawyer in Becar and Guadalupe counties

Ms. Goodbread handled everything for me. There was not one question I asked that she wasn't already working on. She has been doing this long enough she knows what's going to happen before it does, I think. She talked to me in honest and real terms... no sugar coating anything. She made sure I got eve...rything I deserved and then some. I would recommend her to anyone. But, I will tell you, she likes an honest person who is upfront with her. If you can be honest and open and handle what comes with that, Ms. Goodbread is the lawyer for you!

Went to court in July..October her office had ...still not competed the document with basics on it. I received continuous charges for following up on her.

Excellent attorney who cares

My husband moved our children and I to Texas 5 years ago after accepting a position with his company. The children and I came down six weeks after him due to waiting for the school marking period to end so that they could start at their new schools at the beginning of the new six week marking per...iod. It was a very difficult transition for my children and myself as I left behind my recently widowed mother of 81 years old, but I was trying to support my husband in his new position and felt the move may be for the best for our family. I discovered after living here for 3 years that he had been involved in an affair with his co-worker that started before the children and I even moved here. I was devastated and with the advice of family and friends I decided to hire Stacy to file for divorce based on his infidelity. The divorce was filed in December of 2014. My husband pleaded with me to try to reconcile and work things out. In January of 2015 I decided to try to reconcile as I am not an advocate for dicorce and come from a traditional Catholic family. However after a few months of trying to reconcile I realized that he was still seeing the same woman. Unfortunately, prior to discovering this, I dismissed the case, against Stacy's advice. I felt it was the best way to prove my diligence to my husband in trying to reconcile. Stacy advised me to just leave the case on hold until we were sure everything was working out but I insisted on dismissing it. That was March of 2015. Immediately I noticed the difference in my husband's enthusiasm in trying to work things out and realized I had made a huge mistake. I called Stacy and explained I had screwed up and wanted to proceed with the divorce. Stacy is a compassinate person. She said she would do her best to go forward to help me. Long story short, even with a divorce no longer pending, and witbout having to refile, we were able to go before the judge and convince him to sign the petition to lift the dismissal and proceed with the divorce. Due to the amount of time that had passed, the moment he signed the paperwork the divorce became official since we were way past the waiting period. That was March of 2016, a year after I had dismissed it . Stacy never charged me another dime after the original agreed fee almost two years prior and helped me out of the nightmare I had been living. Stacey is an excellent attorney who cares about her clients and does not treat them all the same but carefully assesses each case upon the situation the client is in. I cannot say enough about her. She is professional yet compassionate and truly cares about her clients. You cannot find a better attorney. She will go to bat for you 100% and then some. If you are looking for representation of an attorney in the New Braunfels/San Antonio area, look no further than Stacy Goodbread, she is absolutely the best out there.
