Overall Excellent Attorney

I write this with all honesty and high regard to the Soulsby Law Firm. This is the first time I had been involved in any family custody case or been exposed to any of these proceedings. Everyone was very patient and understanding at all times. I will admit, I was frustrated sometimes and did not see ...the whole picture. No one ever lost patience with me, but continued to provide support for me. Our case was not typical or by far simple. There were a lot of variables with even attempts of termination of my rights. Never did anyone at the firm get discouraged or try to take the easy road. When we got close to starting trial and at the beginning of it, I saw the dynamics of the firm at work. Not of a few, but of the entire firm. They worked seamlessly as a unit to accomplish the goals set each day. The experience of each individual, to include the separate talents of each, solidify and make the firm even stronger. From the total experience accumulated by Kate and Frank ,as the attorneys, was indispensable. The persistence and brilliance of their paralegal June and the added knowledge of other angles by Chris who is a licensed social worker made each effort greater. Each and everyone was instrumental to the success of our case. It was amazing to see each other augment efforts to make each other better. At the actual case, Kate handled it beautifully. Kate was never deceitful but honest and tactful. As a military vet, she demonstrates the core values we strive for such as integrity, service before self and excellence in all we do. The rest of the team were also there and added so much insight that our case grew stronger each day. I cannot thank them enough. I was awarded primary custody of my daughter and from what I hear, in Texas for the fathers to get custody it is not easy. My wife and I will be forever grateful to the Soulsby Law Firm. We actually consider them very close friends now. Would I recommended them? Without question and a doubt.

Custody and Child Support

In 2015 and 2016, I hired Kate for custody and child support orders. I was a single mom; my daughter was not quite 2 and I was 5 months pregnant. From the first meeting, Kate did such a great job at allaying my fears. She worked with me to make everything affordable, and she had my best interests in ...mind as well as those of my children. She made the whole process as easy as possible and was always very responsive. And that includes her staff as well; any time I reached out, they were warm and professional and nothing but helpful. I got everything I wanted and even more so, everything I deserved. And this was even with briefly reconciling with my ex after the birth of our son which was after I initially retained her in 2015. When I went back to her, I was concerned that my credibility would be questioned, but she was very understanding and my brief lapse in judgment didn't hinder any progress we had made after all. It was such a difficult and emotional time for me and I'm so thankful I found Kate. I have referred co-workers to her and they have also had nothing but good things to say. I would hire her again without hesitation.

Divorce/Modification

Kate first represented me years ago in my divorce. I got everything I wanted in my divorce. I kept the house and was awarded custody of my kids even though I am Dad. I recently was dragged back into court for a custody case and went back to Kate. She was great in court and now my ex has less t...ime with the kids and is paying more money! I highly recommend Kate! She really cares.

I interviewed three attorneys prior to meeting Ms. Soulsby. As a father of a young child I was worried I would have minimal access to my daughter, after her mother kept her from me for over two months. Other attorneys dismissed me outright. Kate took time to listen to my story, challenged me when ...I was perhaps becoming too emotional, and finally took on the case. Kate was professional and her reputation was confirmed the first time we had a court hearing. It became clear that both her colleagues and the judges respected her and knew she would represent my claim aggressively and ethically. After six months of court room drama I witnessed many antics by attorneys that were unprofessional at best and unethical or maybe illegal at worst. Ms. Soulsby always stayed above board and pushed for a just outcome. During this dispute she had a bad social study kicked out and she uncovered financial deception used to manipulate child support. In the end, Ms. Soulsby presented me as the father I believe myself to be, loving and involved. Today I spend half of every week with my daughter. I get to walk her to pre-school, eat lunch with her, and actively participate in bumble bee soccer. On the weekends we get to wake up and watch cartoons, go to the park, or take a road trip. At night I get to read her bedtime stories and pack her lunch for school. Others wrote me off saying I was a father and my daughter was too young to spend so much time with me, Ms. Soulsby saw things differently. Thank You Ms. Soulsby.

Amazing Attorney

Kate is a bulldog of an attorney. So much so, that in my case a judge had to read the Miranda rights to one of the opposing counsel's witnesses while Kate was cross examining her. If you want someone to fight for you, give you candid and honest advice, and knows her stuff...Kate is all you need. I'v...e been dealing with a custody issue for the last 2 years with incredible odds mounted against me and Kate never skipped a beat. Nothing can phase this incredibly passionate woman. She won the case for me and got me more than I could ever hope for. In family court, its hard as a Dad to get equal rights and treatment. Kate saw and made sure that I got all of those and then some. God Bless you Kate, and thanks for helping me save my boys lives.
