Hire Her

I was represented by Kate Soulsby in an ongoing court battle for child custody. She is a shark and will absolutely dominate if hired. This is important given the way the systems are set up. What makes her stand out is not only her ability to completely and fearlessly think of and attack all angles ag...ainst the other party but her heart in making sure she fights for what is right. She doesn’t let you show up alone and has even helped me pro bono when funds were not available. That level of care and commitment is extremely rare in this field and I am grateful beyond words. I recommend her and her long standing team that back her.

Excellent, Caring, Tough

Having been through a difficult custody case and then having an unexpected difficult situation arise that required an Attorney with experience, knowledge, and tenacity, I needed someone quickly due to the circumstances as well. Kate fit me in, and fought for my son fantastically! Her associate Frank ...also has many years of experience and her entire team is wonderful. She is responsive timely to emails and questions, and it is obvious she truly cares for her clients! I also found her billing to always be very fair and felt she tried to keep costs limited knowing this can be a costly endeavor for clients. Kate was successful in protecting my son and if I need services again, I will definately use Kate!

Custody modification and post divorce assets

I had a very complex custody modification and post divorce asset issue and the Soulsby law firm was always there to help me and was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I worked with Frank and Kate and they were awesome especially in court, which makes the biggest difference in a ca...se. At the end of the day I ended up with primary custody of the children, and being a father, that’s not easy here in Texas. I also received 50% of the post divorce assets. I would definitely recommend the Soulsby Law Firm to anyone in a tough custody battle. And I would use them again. They also worked with me on a payment plan, that was very reasonable and very helpful. Thank you for everything.

Compassionate, Honest, Competent and Fierce in the Court Room

Kate represented me in an almost 3 year divorce and custody case against my significantly, higher-earning spouse, and she secured excellent outcomes for me. Throughout the course of the case, she was grounded, honest, didn't get swayed by the multiple professionals involved, or settle for an agreemen...t that would not be best for our children. She honestly cares about the children involved and has a strong understanding of what is developmentally appropriate for children, as opposed to simply giving lip service to the concept of 'the child's best interest'. As it was my first and only custody case, I didn't know what was required to be successful in Court. I had many ideas of extra preparations Kate could do for our multiple Court appearances, that probably would have been expensive. I feel many attorneys would have humored me, while charging me for unnecessary work. Kate knows how to prepare for Court to win and while keeping costs reasonable. My spouse spent almost double on legal fees as I did and he did not get the results he wanted. She is kind, compassionate and supportive when you meet with her individually. In the Court room, she is fierce, quick, and sharp. I will always be grateful for the role she played in this difficult period of my life.

Custody and Child Support

In 2015 and 2016, I hired Kate for custody and child support orders. I was a single mom; my daughter was not quite 2 and I was 5 months pregnant. From the first meeting, Kate did such a great job at allaying my fears. She worked with me to make everything affordable, and she had my best interests in ...mind as well as those of my children. She made the whole process as easy as possible and was always very responsive. And that includes her staff as well; any time I reached out, they were warm and professional and nothing but helpful. I got everything I wanted and even more so, everything I deserved. And this was even with briefly reconciling with my ex after the birth of our son which was after I initially retained her in 2015. When I went back to her, I was concerned that my credibility would be questioned, but she was very understanding and my brief lapse in judgment didn't hinder any progress we had made after all. It was such a difficult and emotional time for me and I'm so thankful I found Kate. I have referred co-workers to her and they have also had nothing but good things to say. I would hire her again without hesitation.
