I met Carolyn by chance. I walked into the courthouse at 2pm because my court appointed told me it was ok even though I was late to reschedule. I was lost looking for my courtroom and Carolyn stopped me in the hallway to help. I told her my situation and that I was looking for the court secretary to... reschedule. She walked me back there and told them who I was and why I was there. Within 20 seconds the bailiff walked in and told me to put my hands behind my back. Little did I know they had already written that I hadn't shown to court and put out a warrant. Carolyn stopped the bailiff and asked to speak to the judge. She spoke on my behalf even though I had just met her in the hallway and said that I it wasn't right for them to take me because I still made an effort to show up and my court appointed hadn't so much as contacted me to let me know my court date or anything about my case. She went as far as saying well if I have to I'll bond her out then because she didn't know what she was walking into and still showed up. She demanded to speak to the judge. They let her speak to the judge while they sat me in an empty courtroom. 10 mins later she walks into the courtroom and informs me that she was able to get the judge to take the warrant back and reschedule my court date. This woman whom I barely met did this for me out of the kindness of her heart. Not many lawyers would do this. I soon after that fired my court appointed and went straight to her. I showed up to her office with a down payment the day before my court date, and she worked out a payment plan with me which was awesome and she spoke with me on a personal level, that made me comfortable. She was so understanding about how just because I lived a different lifestyle didn't mean that I was a bad person. As far as my case went, she was set on not signing anything, and sure enough even though I had an inditement, my case was dismissed, and I was off paper. Carolyn isn't just a good lawyer, she's actually a genuine human being who cares. Hiring her was one of the best decisions I've made, and I thank her for everything she's done for me.
