Deanna Whitley is a smart, tough lawyer. For more than 30 years she has been guiding clients through what may be the most difficult experiences of their lives. Divorce. Child Custody. Adoption. In 1992, Deanna began her legal career as a criminal defense attorney at the firm of Nicholas and Barrera in San Antonio, Texas. There, she focused on high profile, complex criminal law cases, including appeals.

In 2008, Ms. Whitley opened a law practice with another local attorney. As this practice grew, Ms. Whitley became increasingly focused on Family Law issues in the greater San Antonio area.

In 2013, Ms. Whitley established her own Family Law Firm within San Antonio, Texas, serving Bexar County and contiguous counties. The success of her law practice is the result of the trust her clients have placed in her ability to set things straight. The firm has served hundreds of families in Bexar and surrounding counties, with excellent outcomes. Ms. Whitley has a longstanding commitment to acting in the best interests of children in all family law litigation. Her high standards and uncompromising ethics have allowed her to build a family law practice that assists clients in ending their marriages without completely destroying their families. As a mother she understands the need to focus the best interests of children and has tremendous compassion for those facing trying family law issues.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
Ms. Whitley received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas A&M University in 1989 and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1992.

While at St. Mary’s, Ms. Whitley won the Woodley Award as the outstanding criminal law student in her class. She was on the National Dean’s List, won American Jurisprudence Awards, and was a research and teaching assistant for Professor John Schmolesky.

She is licensed in the State of Texas.

Happy Heart ❤️

Our family recently reached out to Mrs. Whitley’s law firm mind you we’ve never had to seek much less hire a attorney. We called to ask general questions expecting to have to wait weeks to see her and much to our surprise she was able and very willing to see us the same day. After going over details... of our case she was 100% on board to help us. She assured us that we would be able to get all of this matter taken care of and she was right. In the end of this journey we walked away with exactly what we wanted. Along the way we were in constant contact with the office and everyone at the firm was always willing to listen and answer our sometimes redicoulous questions without making us feel like we were clueless. Mrs. Whitley was outstanding she new the law and we never felt like she wasn’t doing her very best for us. Worst Divorce Lawyer

I hired this lawyer to represent me. We created a game plan, but then it was never followed. The very basis of a lawyer is to fight a legal battle on their client's behalf and I did not get that. I was sent to the wrong location for a mediation session, then my lawyer was late and it was not even... her it was her associate lawyer. From my point of view she was only reactive and showed no real proactive measures in my case. It as a divorce with Custody battle. I do not feel that she represented by best interest. The opposing counsel kept scheduling hearings and I would not find out until the day before at like 5:30 or 6 at night; then I was told not to come to most of them or I sat outside while it happened. In the end, we had a hearing that was scheduled by opposing attorney, and I again did not find out until late the day before. I had another important engagement with work the following day when the hearing was scheduled, so my attorney told me they would postpone. About 11 am that day I received and email stating my divorce was final and it was not favorable for me. I did not care about money or stuff, I only wanted equal time with my children and equal responsibility for my children.
