Indomitable-Caring-Competent Divorce Attorney & Team

I interviewed a wealth of attorneys as I sought to divorce a very manipulative and abusive man. It was going to be critical for me to find a smart, fearless and experienced team that would also relate to me in both a direct, yet compassionate manner. I had done plenty homework on what to expect in ...a quality attorney, but still felt befuddled at whatever legal future events loomed ahead. I interviewed and by-passed a number before finding Attorney Whitley. I set my intentions on checking out Attorney Whitley, realizing that an attorney is only as powerful and competent as her team. What a team! My first encounter was an intake interview with one of her staff. By the time I finished clarifying my case, needs and concerns while also listening to responses and information given me, I felt at great ease. If this team member truly represented the essence of the Whitley Law Firm, I knew this should be my choice. By the end of my intake interview, I felt heard, regarded and well positioned. I felt I had possibly found the team to do this critical life-impacting work for me. My next step was to then meet Attorney Whitley. I was understandably nervous for I wanted this to work, based on what I had already experienced. Still, I recognized that she had to be that one complex piece of the legal puzzle, offering a glove-snug fit. Before meeting Attorney Whitley, her receptionist greeted me with a calm that I took effort to note. If her demeanor was indicative of an overriding welcoming and confident team spirit, then this was likely to be another great experience. I was led into Attorney Whitley’s office and shared my case. Neither pushing nor shoving, she queried and commented in a manner that helped hone my delivery, astutely revealing specifics of my need. Attorney Whitley took time to listen intently, as if I were her only. Her cool, competent demeanor was empowering. She responded in specifics to my case, never disrespectfully lending to general conveyor-belt assessment. She possessed a grit signaling that she would not be tampered with – and neither would her clients be. How I needed someone who would know how to turn up the heat and fight for me, if warranted. With zero reservation, I decided that Attorney Whitely and her team would represent me. In the months that followed, I interfaced with one of her highly expert paralegal staff. I respected her manner for we were able to address finer details in direct nature without wasting time or needless back and forth communications. I never felt any "stone left unturned" and my every query was swiftly and professionally addressed. Time came for the mediation – done via Zoom due to COVID. That’s when I met Attorney Dallas Olsen. Groundwork astutely done by para-legal, Dallas now worked with me in live virtual online forum. The best way for me to describe her competence is to say it plainly. Attorney Dallas “kicked butt”! I watched her discuss and pen my case like a champ for me. By the time all was done, I was indeed awarded what I had hoped. I attributed this to the thorough work of Attorney Olsen. She later accompanied me into the judge’s chamber to conclude the divorce. It comforted me to see this titan of a woman once again representing me. Her calming, no-nonsense demeanor reassured me that every “jot and tittle” of the law would be addressed – and it was. Lastly, my interfaces with the financial staff of Attorney Whitley’s firm were all positive, swift and exact. I always knew where I stood financially. That was important to me for it was critical to be able to govern my funds with certainty. I most highly recommend Attorney Deanne Whitley and her efficacious “A” Team to anyone needing hefty legal representation. They absolutely deliver!

Worst Divorce Lawyer

I hired this lawyer to represent me. We created a game plan, but then it was never followed. The very basis of a lawyer is to fight a legal battle on their client's behalf and I did not get that. I was sent to the wrong location for a mediation session, then my lawyer was late and it was not even... her it was her associate lawyer. From my point of view she was only reactive and showed no real proactive measures in my case. It as a divorce with Custody battle. I do not feel that she represented by best interest. The opposing counsel kept scheduling hearings and I would not find out until the day before at like 5:30 or 6 at night; then I was told not to come to most of them or I sat outside while it happened. In the end, we had a hearing that was scheduled by opposing attorney, and I again did not find out until late the day before. I had another important engagement with work the following day when the hearing was scheduled, so my attorney told me they would postpone. About 11 am that day I received and email stating my divorce was final and it was not favorable for me. I did not care about money or stuff, I only wanted equal time with my children and equal responsibility for my children.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
