Deanna Lynn Whitley

Deanna Whitley is a smart, tough lawyer. For more than 30 years she has been guiding clients through what may be the most difficult experiences of their lives. Divorce. Child Custody. Adoption. In 1992, Deanna began her legal career as a criminal defense attorney at the firm of Nicholas and Barrera in San Antonio, Texas. There, she focused on high profile, complex criminal law cases, including appeals. 

In 2008, Ms. Whitley opened a law practice with another local attorney. As this practice grew, Ms. Whitley became increasingly focused on Family Law issues in the greater San Antonio area.

In 2013, Ms. Whitley established her own Family Law Firm within San Antonio, Texas, serving Bexar County and contiguous counties. The success of her law practice is the result of the trust her clients have placed in her ability to set things straight. The firm has served hundreds of families in Bexar and surrounding counties, with excellent outcomes. Ms. Whitley has a longstanding commitment to acting in the best interests of children in all family law litigation. Her high standards and uncompromising ethics have allowed her to build a family law practice that assists clients in ending their marriages without completely destroying their families. As a mother she understands the need to focus the best interests of children and has tremendous compassion for those facing trying family law issues.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
Ms. Whitley received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas A&M University in 1989 and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1992.

While at St. Mary’s, Ms. Whitley won the Woodley Award as the outstanding criminal law student in her class. She was on the National Dean’s List, won American Jurisprudence Awards, and was a research and teaching assistant for Professor John Schmolesky.

She is licensed in the State of Texas.
