Kurt Scott Hopke

As a parent of a child who began to make a habit of finding himself in less than favorable situations, we consider ourselves blessed that Kurt took the time to get to know my son, and who he really was. I feel like he saw him as more than an assignment and really cared about doing what was best for h...im and his future. He continuously kept us informed, was true to his word, and also made sure my son was true to his word. Kurt's passion for the law and doing what is right is apparent from the moment you meet him.

Kurt Hopke is a good man, no doubt. He's someone that will tell you what to expect and how he plans to go about defending you. I was in a huge mess of trouble with my psychotic ex girlfriend and I had already given up hope with life. I thought my life was over and the end was near for me but Kurt ste...pped in like a guardian angel and did away with all the evil in my life. Public places make me very uncomfortable and panic stricken. Kurt ' s confidence was so assuring that the fear of being convicted was almost entirely absent. The day I was arrested falsely by Houston sheriff in Cypress Tx. for a crime I did not commit, I truly thought my life was over. I had been accused of restriction of breathing of a family member (my ex wife) ; I was charged falsely by the DA with Assault of a family member felony 1, all based on ...a false police report my insane ex wife gave to the police after I told her I wanted a divorce and left my then residence , she did this all while I was gone. I was bailed out by my 67 year old mother who flew down to Houston from Wisconsin 2 days later and she found Kurt, I dont know how but she did, and I prayed to God that Kurt would fight for me as I knew I deserved, as I am and was innocent of any crime. The evidence was stacked highly against my ex wife's credibility , I had text messages of her lying about every detail of the case, she also even signed affidavits with Kurt stating that the details of her statement were not correct and exaggerated , in his office. The day of the pretrial she did not show up as I had expected, its one thing to lie to a cop in your home when you're alone and falsify a story, its another to do it in front of a jury. The case was thrown out thanks to Kurt's diligence and hard work on the case and negotiating with the DA showing him what a complete loss this would've been for the DA to continue with the case. It was thrown out and my name cleared thank the Lord. Kurt did a absolute tremendous professional job and I reccomend him to the highest level of my professionalism as I am a professional engineer. My son needed a criminal defense attorney. We had already hired an attorney and had been to the courthouse a couple of times with the other attorney, and this attorney was advising us that the "deal" the DA would be offering, would probably be the best we could hope for. This other attorney did not... read or review my son's file, and he did not remember anything the second time at the courthouse that we discussed the first time we had been there. A friend of my son's had hired Kurt and had a very good outcome with his case, and had recommended that we go talk to him. I am so glad we took that advice. We made an appointment and went to his office, and we discussed the facts of my son's case. He asked a lot of questions, and took notes (which the other attorney did not). We got a very good "feel" about him after this first consultation and hired him to replace the original attorney. When we went to court, Kurt must have spent at least an hour in the courtroom reading and reviewing the entire file. He then took us in a consultation room and explained to us in detail the case, and how he felt that we should proceed. He did not advise us to take the deal, he wanted to get additional information. He didn't go for the "quick fix" (the deal). We felt that he listened to our concerns and was totally engaged in our case. We had a very positive outcome, my son's case was dismissed. I felt his responsiveness was excellent. If I had a concern, I would email or text him, and he would respond promptly. I also felt him to be extremely forthcoming and knowledgeable. I would describe him as "driven" and not just there to collect your money. He seems to enjoy his work and I highly recommend him for any criminal defense.
