I’m Jonathan Lee Stovall, a Board Certified Family Law attorney based in Texas, with a career rooted in dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to serving families during life’s most challenging transitions. Since earning my Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2008, I’ve spent my entire legal career helping clients navigate complex legal matters with confidence and compassion.
My journey into law began with a strong academic foundation. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Lamar University in 2004, where I developed an early interest in the societal impact of the law. That passion led me to Texas Tech Law School, where I honed my courtroom skills and was honored to be inducted into the Order of the Barristers by the Texas Tech Law School Board of Barristers. This recognition reflected my advocacy skills and dedication to legal excellence early in my career.
In 2008, I joined Galmor, Stovall, & Gilthrope , and I've proudly served as a partner here ever since. Over the years, I’ve built a family law practice that prioritizes personalized attention, practical guidance, and strong legal advocacy. I understand that family law cases are more than legal problems—they’re personal and emotional. My role is to guide clients through divorce, custody, and property issues with the clarity and respect they deserve.
In 2019, I was honored to become Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. This certification is held by fewer than 1% of Texas attorneys and is a mark of distinction that demonstrates my experience, deep knowledge, and commitment to continuing education in the field of family law.
Outside of the courtroom, I believe in the importance of contributing to the legal community and staying engaged with fellow professionals. I’ve been an active member of the Jefferson County Bar Association and the Jefferson County Young Lawyer’s Association since 2008. These organizations provide a platform for mentorship, collaboration, and giving back to our community.
Speaking and education have also been a meaningful part of my professional path. I’ve presented at local continuing legal education (CLE) events, including the 2013 CLE Update on “Family Law 2013 Legislative Updates.” That same year, I spoke at the Jefferson County Pro Bono Luncheon on “Ethics and Music,” a unique opportunity to explore legal ethics through the lens of creativity and culture.
Whether I’m in the courtroom or at the negotiating table, I work diligently to protect my clients’ interests and achieve outcomes that support their long-term wellbeing. Every family’s story is different, and I take pride in crafting legal strategies that reflect those unique needs and circumstances.
If you're seeking experienced, compassionate representation in family law matters, I’m here to help. My team and I are committed to guiding you through the legal process with professionalism, clarity, and care.
