For more than 35 years, David Kiatta has practiced criminal law at the highest levels. He represents individuals facing serious felony charges in and around Houston, focusing on complex, high-stakes matters where the consequences are life-altering.

It is knowing how cases unfold, how juries respond, how prosecutors assess risk, and how judges and juries evaluate credibility. David began his career as a prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where he handled significant felony prosecutions and developed a thorough understanding of how the State builds and tries criminal cases. Over decades in the courtroom, he has refined a deliberate, disciplined approach to defense grounded in preparation, judgment, and trial readiness.
BOARD CERTIFIED
David is Board-Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization- a distinction earned by only a select percentage of Texas attorneys. Board certification reflects substantial trial experience, peer review, and demonstrated excellence in criminal defense.
He has represented clients throughout Fort Bend County, Harris County, Wharton County, and surrounding jurisdictions. His practice regularly involves defending individuals accused of violent offenses, sex-related allegations, robbery and theft crimes, and complex financial investigations.

A few years ago, his wife, Jennifer, joined the firm, bringing her background in education and librarianship to support research, writing, and case development. Together, they have cultivated a family-run practice defined by diligence, discretion, and thoughtful advocacy.
After raising nine children, David and Jennifer are now enjoying life as empty nesters and embracing their role as grandparents. They value the opportunity to work alongside one another while remaining actively involved in the lives of their growing family. That perspective – shaped by decades of parenting, responsibility, and long-term commitment- informs how David approaches his clients’ cases: with steadiness, perspective, and a clear understanding of what is truly at stake.
Outside the courtroom, David is an avid outdoorsman and hunter who values patience, preparation, and discipline- qualities that closely parallel his approach to criminal defense. He also enjoys collecting bourbon, appreciating the craftsmanship and nuance that come only with time and experience.
