My son was facing serious allegations that had the potential to severely limit his relationship with his young son in the short term and long term. When custody battles go wrong they can turn into criminal battles, and before i knew it, i am answering questions to police about allegedly committing the most heinous acts against a person. 0430 25 Dec. Christmas morning in Fort Bend, Texas, a young man decided to steal from me. I saw him breaking in on my security cameras. I addressed the issue and the burglar. I am a Black man in Texas. Even with footage from my surveillance cameras and being well within the requirements of the castle doctrine, (this happened between dusk and dawn, and on property under my control) I still needed an attorney.
