I learned the values of responsibility and a hard work ethic from a young age. Growing up in the small, north Texas town of Sherman, I worked to help support my mom and two younger brothers since the seventh grade. I know what it's like when the deck is stacked against you, but I also know the value of pulling together - and the importance of getting a helping hand. I went from being a paper boy to wanting to be a lawyer at about that same time, when my mom got cleaned out in my parent's divorce. She didn't have the legal help she needed and the system didn't treat her fairly.
My Mom continued to work hard and gave my two brothers and me a great upbringing. I worked hard, played football, studied as best I could, and had the greatest buddies a guy could ever have. But I always remembered the sting of being overpowered and that made me keep an eye out for the little guy and I had a soft spot for those who weren't as fortunate as me. From day one of my career I have worked as a lawyer for people who have been unfairly victimized - good folks injured by unsafe products, by careless citizens and employers. Always have, always will.
Before law school, I graduated from Austin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Austin College was great with the best thing being it is where I met my wife and made lifelong friends. In addition to the heavy work load I was active in politics on campus and athletics. I worked throughout college. I worked as a cook, waiter and bartender in restaurants. I also drove 18 wheelers for Mayflower moving company all over the country during the summer. I maintain my CDL and have first-hand knowledge of the trucking industry having actually driven an 18 wheeler over the road.
I earned my law degree from South Texas College of Law. During law school, I gained admission to the Law Review and held the position of Assistant Editor in Chief. STCL has the best courtroom advocacy skills team in the country. Year in and year out it is ranked at the top in this category. For two years I was a member of the vaunted STCL moot court team during law school, competing in tournaments around the country. In addition to arguing as an advocate in the competitions I was always the brief writer for my teams. My briefs were awarded "best brief" awards in moot court tournaments twice. During my third year of law school, I was awarded the Distinguished Service Award as recognition of my accomplishments in the advocacy program.
Right out of law school I began my career at a major Houston personal injury litigation firm. I worked on cases involving unsafe cars, trucks and vans and 18 wheeler wrecks. The firm was great but I wanted to have a say in all of the decisions. So when I was 32, my law partner, Tony Denena and I formed Denena & Points, PC. Since then, I have tried several more injury cases to verdict. I have taken on cases against major corporations such as General Motors Corporation, Ford Motor Company, Suzuki, Toyota, Chrysler, Firestone, Bridgestone, Cooper Tires, Goodyear, Dunlop Tire, Hankook Tire, TRW, Takata, Autoliv, Alcoa, and others on behalf of families all over Texas, in several federal courts in Texas and in seven other states. Also, I have handled to resolution hundreds of other cases like car wrecks, truck wrecks, and injuries in stores and on business properties. These are the types of cases Tony and I have a passion for and continue to aggressively pursue on behalf of our clients.
In addition to this practical experience handling a wide variety of cases, I have written extensively on issues related to expert testimony admission, automotive products liability, accident reconstruction, toxic torts, and multi-district litigation.
For the past five consecutive years I have been named a "Rising Star" in personal injury litigation as printed in Texas Monthly magazine. This honor is granted to only 2.5% of attorneys in Texas under the age of 40.
I have been with my beautiful and brilliant wife Jenifer since 1993. Jenifer is also an attorney and practiced for six years after graduating law school from the University of Texas. We have three wonderful young children - two boys ages 7 and 5 and little spark plug of a girl who is 2. Family is so important to me and I spend as much time as I can with my wife and children. Currently I am coaching soccer and flag football and try to coach everything I have the time to coach with my boys. Something tells me that my daughter will be just as interested in athletics as they are. Jenifer and I both do our best to work in the community. Jenifer is the treasurer for the elementary school PTA and I serve on a committee with our homeowners' association. Somehow Jenifer juggles her massive role as great mother and wife, gives time to our community, still does some legal work on the side and has turned into a great guitar player. We are parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
I am licensed to practice law in the state courts of Texas and the United States District Courts in the Southern, Western, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. I have served as counsel in California, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland and Colorado as well. I am a member of the American League of Justice (ALJ), the Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG), the Texas Bar Association, The Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association.

My husband and I were in a terrible motorcycle accident. We hired Chad to help with the Insurance company to get every penny we deserved. Chad was not only extremely professional but caring, tentative, and AVAILABLE to us - which most Attorneys are not. He got every dime available in a swift and tim...

"I endorse this lawyer. I have worked with and known Chad for several years. He is a compassionate, dedicated and hardworking attorney."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known and worked with Chad for over 15 years and he is one of the most honest, sincere and detail-oriented attorneys I know. He analyzes his cases much more thoroughly than most attorneys and always provides clients clear direction regarding their cases. Clients I have referred to Chad have consistently reported back to me great satisfaction with the legal representation he provides, but they typically add a "thank you" to me for referring them to an attorney who actually took time to listen to them and understand their situation. Chad comes from humble roots, which I believe has instilled in him a great appreciation for people from all walks of life. He treats his clients as they should be treated, with respect, dignity and professionalism. Not all lawyers actually CARE about their clients... Chad does. This separates him from his peers."
"I endorse this lawyer. Mr. Points has proven himself to be one of the top in his field. He is a zealous advocate for his clients and is a community leader."
"Chad and I have known each other for years and we have handled cases against each other and with each other. Chad is a highly competent and experienced lawyer who always achieves great results for his clients. I endorse this lawyer."
"I endorse this lawyer. Chad is an extremely diligent lawyer and gifted advocate. Chad works tirelessly on behalf of his clients maintaining a clear, directed focus on achieving the best possible outcome for his client. Chad is astutely aware of his role as advocate and counselor and takes time to visit with his clients about the client's particular matter and the legal process in general."
"Chad Points is a tireless and passionate advocate. I have referred matters to him in the past and he has handled them with the utmost professionalism and diligence, always keeping me in the loop and taking care of the client. More importantly, he has been able to get positive results even where the prospects looked dim. Great trial strategist with a real feel for and repoire with juries. I would not hesitate to refer matters to him in the future."
