Okay so here we go.. In a word ...wow! Lisa came into my case 4 days prior to a temporary restraining order hearing. My ex had filed bogus charges against me and got a judge to believe them and took our son away from me. When I hired Lisa I was behind the 8-ball. Let me just warn you she will be t...ough on you but that is because she cares so much about her clients and she wants to win your case. So if you cannot handle a direct attorney, this may not be the attorney for you but for me I wanted a fighter and that is exactly what I got. The night before Our hearing they sent the evidence they were going to use in court against me. The evidence they had they were trying to really make me look like a bad mother. I was really concerned about this evidence. But Lisa worked her magic and she shot the evidence down and showed the judge how it had nothing to do with my children and who I am as a mother. Not only did I get my son back and the existing order went back in place, like I wanted, but the judge imposed a morality clause against me and my ex when my ex was only trying to get it imposed on me. Ha! The look on his face when he realized he was going to be penalized for taking me to court was priceless. But I showed him with a bigger person I was when I asked the judge to not put the morality clause on him because our child loves his fiance. After the hearing Lisa and I celebrated and I told her I was going to give her a five-star Yelp review because she did an amazing job in such a short period of time. Her communication was excellent, she got back to me quickly on everything and we got the victory. Most attorneys take days to respond to you, if at all I can never thank you enough Lisa! Guys if you want an attorney who is going to tell you the truth but will fight for you and your children this is definitely the attorney to hire. I would give her more than five stars if I could!

...it seems being a guy makes it an uphill battle especially in law family courts.T The courts tend to take side in most cases involving children with the woman. Here I was facing a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) that would have prevented me from seeing my children had it been approved by the cour...t. I hire the office of Lisa Okoh Brown to represent me. Ms Brown went to work right away on my case and after putting in some due diligence Attorney Lisa Brown completely crushed that TRO. She presented my case so well the opposing attorney couldn't say a word. Needless to say I will be seeing my children. Hiring an attorney is never cheap but if you have to you might as well hire one that will go to work with passion on your behalf. Lisa does not take her clients case and situation lightly. She will fight for you to the best of her ability and as best she knows how to. Would I hire her again? Absolutely. You will get your moneys' worth out of Lisa. She even called and emailed on weekends about my case and sometimes she would stay awake until 3am in the morning making sure she was not leaving any stones unturned or missing any details. My case really started over 25 years ago when I came to this country from the Caribbean. Being naive I was fooled into being involved with a situation that created long-lasting consequences in my life. I hired an attorney years ago to try to get my status and paid many thousands of dollars but got ...no results. I have known attorney Okoh-Brown personally for over 30 years. She has always been a fighter and high achiever. Always. As an athlete she was driven and always wanted to win. I see that same qualities in her as a lawyer. I must admit I never told her about my immigration issues because it was something that I did not easily share with anyone due to having a very successful career. Finally, 3 years ago I decided to share my situation with her. She immediately wanted to help and said she loved challenging cases. She started researching right away and trying to find a way to win my case. She warned me there were no guarantees but she would fight hard for me but would never risk my life here in the u.s. She went through several avenues to remedy my situation. She ran checks. We discussed every step of the way the risks involved and whether to proceed. The night before my case was decided she texted me a prayer. I do not know too many lawyers who would do that. If she cannot help you, she will tell you that. I paid the other attorney five times, yes 5 times, what I paid her and got no results and now because of her I have my life back again. There are no words as I said, none that can express how I feel and what this means to me and there is absolutely no way I can ever thank her but for her I know doing a job well and knowing that she is making a difference to help immigrants in this country is thanks enough. Do not hesitate to hire her for your case, especially if it is complicated. Unlike many lawyers she does not run away from the difficult cases and will not stop until she gets results. This was when Lisa worked for Angela Brown's firm. Angela Brown was the one who did my consult and was excellent at her consultation. She offered a free consultation and made me feel like she would handle my case effectively. She was who I hired, or thought I hired, but Unfortunately, she was never ...the one on my case. The case ended up being handled by another attorney Lisa Okoh-Brown (who I believe no longer works at the firm). My case was a potentially very strong case yet nothing was done with it. Overall, I ended up paying about 15,000 dollars. There was only one hearing and one mediation which Lisa attended. After that, nothing else happened on the case. To save money, I even filed my own discovery and responded back to the opposing attorney's discovery. Even after doing my own discovery, they subtracted another $2,500 to review the discovery that I did only to make one or two corrections... I DID my own discovery and they charged $2,500. I brought this up with Angela Brown and she reviewed what happened. She stated that she would reimburse me the $2,500. That came with a catch... I had to put another $5,000 in as a retainer and then she would essentially add the $2,500. I told her I cannot afford to fill up the retainer fee again and asked if she would be able to just do more work on my case and subtract from the $2,500 she would reimburse me for. She said she could not do that. I asked if I could at least get back my$2,500 if she was going to withdraw. She stated that she could not do that... I spent 15,000 on this firm just for them to withdraw because I could no longer fill the retainer fee to keep them on my case. 15,000 that literally went to nothing. Lisa made me feel like she was on the opposing side. Whenever the attorney would call or email Lisa, not only would I be billed thousands for that, she would call me and tell me to stop what I was doing. She didn't bother to hear my side out and assumed the opposing attorney was telling the truth. I grant the opposing attorney the benefit of the doubt because he was probably being misinformed by his client. Lisa has no excuse. Lisa would speak in a condescending way every time she spoke with me. She was billing me so much because of her ineffective communication with the opposing attorney that I asked her to quit speaking with the opposing attorney unless we had mediation. The opposing party is a millionaire and part of their strategy was to just bill up and up until I couldn't afford representation. I made this known to Lisa and she informed me that she could not ethically cut off communication with the attorney. I told her not to cut off communication but just don't speak on the phone unnecessarily since we were clearly at a point of disagreement and nothing would be settled until mediation. She told me that she did not think she could represent me anymore. I brought this up with Angela Brown, her boss as the time, and Lisa ended up telling Angela that she never said such a thing. Luckily the phone calls were recorded and Angela apologized for what Lisa said. However, that apology did not come with any reimbursement. Lisa attended one hearing and one mediation. However, she made me drive an hour away for mediation only to make an excuse that she could not make it and ended up doing the mediation over zoom. I ended up having to represent myself for the remainder of the case.
