Charges over text messages and emails

I hired Mr. James and on top of the delay and lack of communication he charged me for responding to my texts and my emails more than $700, i asked him nicely to re-consider the charges and he got offended and say "how much visiting your kids worth?" that was his answer, i have no issues with other ch...arges but making his clients pay for communication like responding to texts and emails is not fair at all, he needs to make it clear at the beginning, if he respond here that i'm lying then i can show the invoice which is very clear. Thank you

Lazy

Mr. Mahan fooled me by making me think he was going to 100% support me through my divorce. Once he received his payment, he couldn't have cared less about my case. I asked him multiple times to explain what certain things meant and, to this day, I still never got an explanation. I requested several t...imes that he draft up my decree but yet he let the opposing attorney do so. Pure laziness. There are so many other reasons why I would NOT recommend hiring Mr. Mahan as your attorney.

This is an unfair review! I give 110% to all of my clients from start to finish. Since I don't have a clue who this reviewer is, I can only assume it is fake. If you don't have the courage to leave your name, then why bother to say anything at all. In all likelihood, this client (if in fact it was a client) was didn't like the outcome. Some clients refuse to take their lawyers advice and end up getting fired by the lawyer. That is probably what happened here.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
