I was in a very dire situation with my home and was receiving letters, up to 10 a day from attorneys soliciting my business which I promptly threw away. I had already spoken to several of them and knew there was not a fit either from the $$ they wanted up front or the monthly fees. It felt like ambul...ance chasing. After a month of these letters, one came in the mail along with several and for some reason, I decided to open it and it was Lane Law Firm. I told my husband, "I have a feeling about this one. That I should open it". So, I did. My questions were answered as complete as they could be from day one and I had a ton of questions because I had become a very astute consumer since it had already been 3 years of battling our mortgage company. We were at our wits end after owning our home for 23 years, NEVER missing a payment and in fact, paying on the principal almost every month. We were a casualty of the housing crisis and job loss, tried to initiate "help" with our servicer from day one and were only offered the HAARP plan which was a joke in itself. My husband suffered job loss at the same time with his very successful 30 year career and I had just invested in opening a restaurant so this was a very tough time. We were told that to get help we had to be 3 months behind which we weren't. We were trying to foresee the future for my husband employment wise because his field had dried up and I was already committed to the restaurant. Very bad timing coupled with the housing crisis. The bank (this is all before Lane) kept us at bay for 2 YEARS always telling us that there were new loans out there on this HAARP plan and that one would come up and being told we were not allowed to make a house payment while asking for help. A plan never did come upand after two years, they sold our paper. We also found out that the servicer they sold our paper to had been fined by the government 4 times, paid the fines and opened up under a new name. The bank that held the note also had fines in the billions for fraudulent mortgage practices. We knew we were with the devil and way out of our league. And then comes Lane Law Firm. The stress during this time was unimaginable! You can't be an honest tax payer, have owned four houses in your life, never missed a payment on anything and feel good about getting foreclosures. We hired Lane and they fought for us all the way. Didn't gouge us on fees, warded off every single foreclosure until the end. You haven't lived until you have a marshall come to your door telling you have 3 weeks to LEAVE. That one almost did me in. That was the end, our final one. Lane stopped that one too and that went right up to the last minute. Lane appealed to opposing counsel to allow us to short sell after they were able to postpone the marshall notice. It was nail biting! We went through so many obstacles even with short selling I could write a book just on that. 5 offers, two backing out, and it goes on and on. Until now. We finally closed on the house, did not have to be foreclosed and it is OVER! Five plus years with Lane fighting ALL THE WAY! We had the pleasure of meeting with Chip Lane and he was outstanding. I would recommend him highly. Very informative and honest. The firm is professionally run and I dealt with Steven Schwinger most of the time. Steven had to put up with my sometimes over the top emotions, (sorry, a marshall at your door requires some emotion and panic) and he was as accessible as it gets. I could always get him, he was always informative and I never felt like he was irritated although I'm sure he was at times. He was simply the BEST! Great people, great law firm, and I would recommend them to anyone who is having mortgage issues. Thank you Lane and I will definitely spread the word.

I don't personally know the lawyer, but Steven Schwinger is part of this law firm and counseled me through the WHOLE process of my short sale. It took us literally about 4 years to settle and Steven kept me informed every step of the way. I never felt that I was a client 'on the back burner'. He A...LWAYS answered my calls, and if he was unavailable, he would immediately call me back. Email was a great means of communication as well. And when I didn't understand certain terminology or procedures, he thoroughly explained, and many times repeatedly explained until I was clear on the information. I truly believe that God sent an angel to help me through my hardships, and my prayers were answered when I felt that I had hit 'rock bottom'. I recall receiving a pocket bible in the mail one day from the firm, which truly touched my heart. I would recommend this firm to anyone who is going through a shortsale or needs financial counseling...200% satisfied!

We would have been stuck in a really bad situation if we had not found Chip Lane's law firm. They helped us find our way out of a 'damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't' problem. They worked diligently with our real estate agent as well as our lender and they kept us informed every step of the way. ... They examined our contract for the specifics to show us how what we thought we were agreeing to was not the final language of the mortgage after an 11th hour down and dirty switch by the broker.
