My name is Jason Laas-Sughrue and I am a Texas lawyer. I currently live in Dallas, am married to my best friend and right hand “man”, Molly and we have 3 children. I travel to and from my firms in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston, we exclusively defend people from creditors’ lawsuits, foreclosure, and repossession.
I am from a little town in central Texas called West. In fact, my wife Molly and I met and started dating in West, Texas, so it has a very special place in my heart. After graduating from high school my wife and I attended college at The University of Texas at Austin. It was from UT that I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2000. We both then also went on to Law School at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
After graduating from law school and passing the bar exam, I opened my law practice in Houston with an exclusive focus on defending people from creditors efforts to collect debt. Within 5 years of starting our practice in Houston we became the second largest consumer debt firm in Houston.
In 2013 I expanded our Houston practice by opening an office in Dallas and Fort Worth. After two years we have become one of the larger Debtor firms in Dallas/Fort Worth, making us one of the largest firms of our kind in Texas.
Despite our size, our commitment to our individual clients has never diminished. Clients that come into our office are treated as family. We make sure that clients have all the time that they need to sit with an attorney and have an answer to all of their questions. We do an excellent job of making sure our clients stay informed and are comfortable while we represent them. This we believe our philosophy is reflected in the reviews you can read on AVVO, our website, and our excellent rating on the BBB.
Please give us a call and let us know how we can help.

I do NOT recommend Jason Laas-Sughrue of JLS law out of Waco/Arlington - He incompetent and lies.
I do not recommend and will never refer anyone to Jason Laas-Sughrue of JLS law. I made the mistake of responding to a mailed flyer and contacting Jason Laas-Sughrue by phone on September 16th. In that initial phone conversation he said he would first reach out to the opposing counsel and request a...

Excellent legal help from Jason Laas firm
My wife and I were facing financial difficulties and were facing a foreclosure. We called Jason Laas firm for help based on all the mailers we received. I had quickly reviewed some firms online, and Jason Laas' firm stood out. I only encountered a bad report published on the Ripoff Report Web site. T...

I CONSIDER THIS MAN THE ABSOLUTE WORST ATTORNEY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. BAD COUNSEL LEFT ME WITH $293,000 LIABILITY
I had a chapter 13 filing with this Attorney. When I got divorced and could not handle the mortgage any more, i made several efforts to get him to convert to chapter 7, so I could discharge everything, including the Foreclosure Liability that was imminent. I got some response FINALLY, after I wrote ...

What a relief
I was worried, scared, stressed, not sleeping and did not know what to do. When I left Jason's office I felt like I could breath again. I slept that night. His office staff is very nice and all so helpful. Jason is a nice person that listened to me and did not make me feel like a number and gave me a...
"I have worked with Jason on a number of occasions and find him to be compassionate and effective. Top-notch attorney."
"If there was an equivalent for "bedside manner" for lawyer's, Jason has the best I've seen. Jason knows how to connect to people, to understand them, and match them with the best solution for their current situation. That "bedside manner" continues in the courtroom and with fellow attorneys so he is well respected in our legal community. I happily endorse Jason!"
"Jason is an experienced and practiced attorney who takes the time to tailor solutions toward each individual's circumstance. He cares about the client and has set up a practice in which clients have access to attorneys with experience instead of being passed down the line."
