Attorney Dane Johnson is a native Texan who earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and his J.D. from the University of Houston. He graduated from the University of Houston Law Center early and became one of the school’s youngest graduates in 1996. Following law school, Dane worked in the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office and quickly worked his way up to a position as a chief prosecutor in County Court at Law No. One. He completed over 40 jury trials in his first two years as a prosecutor. In 1999, a criminal defense firm was impressed with his performance and hired him away from the prosecutor’s office. Through trials, seminars, and continuing legal education, Dane honed his DWI defense skills and focuses his practice on DWI defense today. Dane is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and co-founded Johnson, Johnson & Baer P.C.

Works Hard with Integrity
Dane and his entire team were fantastic to work with. Having a criminal charge was scary and they helped me understand what was happening each step of the way. Dane was open and upfront with what the possible outcomes could be and through his persistent efforts he was able to get my case dismissed be...

Dwi dismissed
the knowledge alone of all the Dwi laws kept me impressed and feeling comfortable. even when they told me my options and said they wanted to fight and not settle. they made sure I knew all options and never pressured or rushed any decisions from me. I hope no one has to go through what I did, but if ...

Did NOTHING for my money.
I hired Dane Johnson of Johnson and Johnson Law Firm in April of '07. From the start, I was assured that he would investigate all aspects of my case. After he got a bulk of my money, I repeatedly asked him to investigate aspects of my case that he said he would. He said he would. He never investigate...
Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, this is all too typical of what is sometimes referred to as "buyers remorse." Sometimes in this profession we see clients that accept a deal that is exactly what they want at the time, but later they seem to regret the choice that they made. Often times in these situations - as is the case here, the lawyer becomes the target of the blame. The client in this case chose to plead guilty to a recduced charge of a misdemeanor DWI instead of going to trial on felony intoxication assault charges. He received 15 months probation on the refiled misdemeanor DWI charge and the intoxication assault charge was dismissed. Let's make no mistake about it, the client was the one that made the decision to plead to the reduced charge. Of course we investigated the facts of the case, researched the law in the case and consulted with client extensively prior to him making the desicion to plead guilty to the reduced misdemeanor charge. At the time of the plea, client was ecstatic the result and with his decision to plead guilty and receive probation to recuce the risk of a jury trial that could have sent him to prison for up to 10 years. The claim that the state did not have strong evidence is simply not true. After client rear-ended a big rig tractor, client and his friend were both life-flighted to the hospital with life threatening injuries. The hospital (not the police officers) took client's blood for medical purposes that showed his blood alcohol concentration was over twice the legal limit. Taking into consideration all of the facts of the case, I understood client's decision to enter his plea in a misdemeanor court.

No frills
Was arrested for DWI, I knew the state had no case. The video showed the same, case was dismissed. Dane and his entire team handled it perfectly. I was proactively given advice, leaving me prepared and a step ahead of the game. My biggest compliment is how seamless it all was. I have a life t...
"I have witnessed Dane in trial and I have to say that he is one of the most gifted courtroom advocates practicing law. In one such trial, I watched Dane question and pick apart a venire panel and by the end of jury selection he had everyone in the courtroom, including the prosecutor, convinced his client was not guilty. I watched in awe as Dane argued and won a Motion to Suppress to which the State had no option but to dismiss the case against his client. I have seen this lawyer fight for his clients and I endorse this lawyers work."
"When I'm in trouble with the law, I want to hire a fighter, not a pleader. A lawyer who is willing to fight will, in the end, get a better result for his client than a lawyer who seeks a plea from the beginning. Even if that result is obtained through a plea bargain, the fact that the lawyer is willing to fight means that the client will get a better result. As a former president of the Houston criminal defense bar, I know the fighters from the pleaders; Dane is a fighter."
"Dane has proven time after time his utmost dedication to his clients' cause. If you're looking for aggressive representation of your legal rights, look no further. A true Texas Super Lawyer!"
"I endorse this lawyer. Highly skilled trial lawyer who give his clients 110% of his effort and attention. Anyone who hires Mr. Johnson will be in great hands."
"If you are arrested for DWI in the State of Texas, you need to contact Dane Johnson. An experienced criminal defense attorney who specializes in intoxication offenses, Dane Johnson works incredibly hard for his clients and is a talented advocate in the courtroom. I recently assisted Dane in trial on two cases, and the results he achieved for his clients were nothing short of amazing. DWI with a .18 blood test that came into evidence: jury acquits Dane Johnson's client. DWI with a .16 breath test: DA dismisses the case after Dane convinces the Judge to suppress the breath test. And that's just in the last few weeks. If you want one of the best attorneys in Texas, call Dane."
"Dane is one of the best attorneys I know. He doesn't just know his craft better than the rest, but he genuinely cares about his clients. I have leaned on his firm at times when I was in trial and needed some pointers, and they have always been there to help. If Dane is your lawyer, you know you're getting the best."
"Dane is not only a fellow layer in the community but he is also my friend. He is fearless in the courtroom and fights to the end for his clients. He is on top of his game, and runs one of the premier defense firms in the city. Any client would be lucky to have Dane fighting for them."
"If you know Dane, you know he is one of the best in Houston. Not only is he a great lawyer, but a great person as well. I challenge you to find someone who has something negative to say about him. You are in good hands if Dane is your lawyer."
"I endorse this lawyer. Mr. Johnson is well known, well respected, and well liked in the legal community. He works hard, fights for his clients, and gets the best results he can. I recommend giving him a call to see if he can help with your case if you or a loved one gets arrested."
"I highly endorse Dane's work. I have entrusted some of my clients to Dane and they have been very pleased with his work and results."
"I endorse this lawyer's work. Dane is a professional, bottom line. He knows his way around the courtroom and he is respected by prosecutors, judges, and defense attorneys."
"Dane is a hardworking, personable lawyer. I frequently see him not just at the courthouse, but in trial fighting for his clients. His warm personality certainly must be a benefit helping him connect with jurors on behalf of his client. Dane also associates with good lawyer so he is well-connected & respected in the legal community."
"I endorse this lawyer's work. Dane is a hard-working, hard-fighting, and competent lawyer who does anything and everything he can for his clients. I would recommend him to anyone needing a criminal defense lawyer."
