John Bo Nichols

Bo was my second lawyer. I ended up at his office after my prior attorney gave me bad advice at our temporary orders mediation and I had an uphill climb to come back from it. Bo will tell you straight, he really challenged my thinking and my ideas. I think I really grew as a person, from a stay at h...ome mom with a very scared and controlled mindset. It has been great for my case and my self esteem. He is not cheap but I knew I wanted a litigator who would go to court (I'm also an attorney). Divorce is hard and petty. I was a mess and he was calm and planned long-term. I ended up with the custody and child support arrangement I wanted for the most part, without having to go to trial. Yes, Bo is expensive. He is worth it though. As an attorney I have been shocked at how poor many other attorneys out there are and/or the unethical tactics used. He works the case and does what is needed. He took me seriously which was so important to me. I knew I didn't want to totally destroy my ex as was suggested by several lawyers. Bo is a good mix of caring and tough, and I am very pleased with the great outcome he got for me coming from behind as I was.

Bo managed to do the impossible… I received primary custody as the father. After my wife ran off out of state with my 4 yr old while I was out of town, she filed for divorce and I immediately hired Bo. My wife managed to keep my child hidden from me for 65 days, and while I wanted to go scorched eart...h on her, Bo managed to talk me out of multiple potential bad decisions. We ultimately received primary custody because we did things by the book while my wife lobbed grenades left and right and ultimately paid the price in court. He’s by no means the cheapest, but he’s certainly one of the best. His level of preparedness when we had our emergency hearing was frankly incredible. The amount of work and documentation that he produced behind the scenes was extensive. I wouldn’t call him an overly aggressive monster (which is what I thought I wanted). Rather, he wins cases by out preparing and outmaneuvering the other side. We were playing checkers while they were playing chess. It didn’t always feel like we were winning (and we had our share of unpleasant phone calls because of that), but Bo is playing the long game, which ultimately is what led to our easy victory in court. Divorce is easily the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life, and there were days where I honestly wondered if I had chosen the right lawyer. But that’s because I’m not a lawyer and had no idea what I was doing. Without Bo’s guidance I would have screwed this up repeatedly, much like my wife did. I’m going to be much lighter in the wallet for hiring him, but ultimately I’m going to have something worth much more than that, which is a relationship with my daughter and primary custody as a father. Highly recommend.

Although I did not retain Mr. Nichols due to complications of my case, I felt the need to write a review on him. He was the only lawyer I reached out to, who took the time to respond to my emails promptly to help guide me in the right direction based on my case when he didn't really have to since I w...asn't a client. His responses were authentic, genuine, and transparent when he didn't have to do that. Just a world-class type of professional.
