J. Wade Bainum has over a decade of experience representing thousands of individuals charged with a wide variety of federal crimes including, among others, money laundering offenses, firearms trafficking offenses, drug trafficking offenses, white collar offenses, and public corruption offenses. His background as a state prosecutor, police officer, private practice civil and criminal defense attorney, and assistant federal defender gives him a unique perspective of criminal law and a complete skill set that enables him to aggressively defend his clients. He is proficient on a professional level in Spanish and Portuguese
Mr. Bainum earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Kansas State University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas. He is licensed to represent clients in federal courts in Texas and Kansas, as well as with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Since his graduation from law school, Mr. Bainum has focused on criminal and civil litigation. He began his career as a state prosecutor in Kansas and then went into private practice as a criminal defense attorney. In 2004, Mr. Bainum accepted a position with the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Texas. He remained in this position until 2013 when he left to open his own practice.

Tireless and a go getter
