Biography
I am a Board Certified Criminal Law Specialist and the Managing Attorney of Michael & Associates' Houston office, focusing on DWI defense and forensic science litigation across Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, and Montgomery Counties.
My approach to DWI defense is built on scientific authority. As a trained ISO/IEC 17025 Internal Auditor, I evaluate forensic laboratories against the same international standards used by accrediting bodies, identifying failures in quality management systems, calibration records, and analytical protocols that most attorneys never reach. I am currently completing a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a concentration in Forensic Science at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, backed by 40 hours of hands-on gas chromatography training and ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist coursework. When I review a blood alcohol case, I am auditing the lab, not just reading the report.
Before private practice, I served as a Clinical Supervisor at the Texas Tech University School of Law, teaching trial skills and case theory to emerging criminal defense attorneys. I am a published author in Voice for the Defense on the fallibility of urine drug screens. Drawing on my background as a Combat Engineer in the Texas Army National Guard, I bring a disciplined, methodical approach to every case.
Outside the office, I am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and Head Instructor at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Pearland.
