HIGHWAY ROBBERY

From the initial consultation to present day, this law firm has been consistent in one thing, doing nothing. I hired them to represent me in my divorce. Everything was already decided, but the only thing we were fighting for was custody of my son. I was never able to meet with the attorney face-to-fa...ce due to COVID (and I understand that) but the two times I requested him to call me so we could discuss my case, he called me days later than the original appointment time. They are quick to request money but they do the bare minimum. They did no prep work on my case and represented me poorly in the courtroom. Brent couldn't even manage to win my case against my ex wife and she did not hire representation. You're telling me that someone that went to law school can't win against an average citizen with no legal background. This firm is a joke and would highly encourage everyone to stay away from them. Lastly, I paid the $5500 upfront and did not use all of it during my case. They have yet to return my remaining funds and continue to charge me $30 per message when I try to ask about it. My case was finalized back in January 2021, why is it taking 7 months to return my money? They are going to everything in their power to retain those funds or keep charging me until my funds are gone. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LAW OFFICE!!!!!!!!

Incompetent!!

This law firm is both negligent and incompetent. I hired them for a divorce/child custody case in which timeliness was essential. In the week and a half after I hired them and paid a retainer of $8,500 they failed to do anything whatsoever. My assigned attorney never reached out to me so I scheduled ...an appointment with him. On the day of the appointment I was told he could call anytime during the day, which is very inconvenient if you have a job and life to attend to. At the end of the day, I called the office to inquire as to why he hadn't called and I was told that he got "tied up." In the meantime, I missed the deadline for responding to the divorce petition. The next day, the paralegal messaged me to inform me that they were "about to start preparing the petition"....... I didn't need a petition, that had already been filed by the other party, I needed them to file a response to the petition. Clearly they didn't read through any of the information or forms I had promptly provided them upon retaining their services and they had no idea what was going on. I fired them and hired the Tisdale law firm who, within 24 hours, had filed a response on my behalf which fortunately was accepted by the courts in spite of the passed deadline. I have been trying to get a refund of my retainer fee and they're giving me the runaround. I read the fee agreement and they take $3400 off the top that is non refundable!!! That $3400 isn't applied towards the hourly work they do on your case, it's just their representation fee. As to the other $5100, it remains to be seen if I will ever see that again. These guys are expensive and incompetent. Do yourself a favor and call the Tisdale Law Firm instead. They charge less and they actually get things done and communicate with you.

Disappointed and taken advantage of

I hired this firm 1 week before Covid as a federal attorney for my son. The firm didn't get a chance to work on my son's behalf. The state decided without any influence from the firm to drop my case. The juvenile supervisor contacted me after informing the firm that the state decided my case was not... a felony 5-21-20. Firm never contacted me. 3 days later I began to call firm and was given run around for 2 weeks and was even sent a bill through mail which I never received before for remainaming balance of my payment $500 of $4000. I continue calling firm personnel stated they knew nothing about case being dismissed and never talked to personnel at juvenile facility. Finally a few days went by and I called firm with juvenile personnel on line. Firm personnel began giving me run around again until juvenile personnel stated she was on phone. Then I began to receive excuses like this is only our second juvenile case. Tired of hearing excuses juvenile personnel began to tell firm personnel how to confirm state decided to dismiss case on there own. (Case was reduced to misdemeanor) I began to inquire getting my money back for paying a felony lawyer for a misdemeanor case. I was told Mr. Pritchard would contact me no response since. My contract states non refundable if case is lost, but dosen't state non- refundable if state decided to drop the case. I paid for a felony lawyer and didn't have a felony case, and law firm didn't get my case reduced, because this was only the second juvenile case firm had handled and didn't know what to do until told by juvenile personnel. I'm disappointed and feel I have been taking advantage of. I am a single mother working 2 jobs while going to school and the firm knows this, but still decided treat me with no regard. Out of frustration the firm personnel stated to me that the way they see it I still owe them $500 for June even though my case was dismissed May 21. Even though I never needed a felony lawyer they took my money and never audit it like they said they would, and never made an attempt to return my money back to me. Is this the representation you want to represent you. They took an oath to uphold the law and not break or bend to their satisfaction. I'm also reporting to BBV to ensure no one else is taking advantage of.

His Law Firm Legally placed my Sweetheart back into my Life :-)

I'M HAPPY TO SAY I hired Brett Pritchard after a Free Consultation in March of this year regarding a SAPCR Suit in which I filed. During that consultation I felt that he felt my pain and trusted Brett and his firm to do the best job that they could do for my case, which I understood could have been v...ery lengthy and very costly. I cared for a child for over 11 years that I had no legal rights too. After the biological parent decided she wanted her child to live with her, and after the child told me they didn't want to go, I had to do something, so I filed a SAPCR (Suit Affecting the Parent-Child Relationship) afterwards I needed an Attorney!!! Everyone in his office felt my pain, well at least that's how I felt, from the Receptionist, to the paralegals to the Attorneys, everyone was warm, kind, polite and extremely Professional. Brent Sykora was my Attorney from the law firm, he was very helpful, always available if I needed to speak with him, keeping me advised with important information regarding my case. The paralegals are the best in responding to your messages and uploading any and all documentation. I could log into the portal anytime of the day or night to check my case information, which included everything from documents to billing. Whenever I would visit the office, the most wonderful stylish lady greeted me with a smile and kinds words. Without making my story into a book, I am now Joint Conservator Manager of my Sweetheart. We are now able to see each other again without anyone saying otherwise. Through Mediation the opposing party finally agreed to Joint Custody to avoid Trial, we were indeed ready for Trial!! I know who will have my business should I need to seek legal counsel again. In the best interest of the child is the part that most adults forget, it's not about us, it's about that precious child and keeping those he loves in their life. Do your research if this happens to you, clearly you have rights in the State of Texas if you cared for a child for a six month period regardless if you're related to the child or not, but you have a 60 day window to file paperwork or you'll forfeit your rights and lose any chance you have to remain in the child's life. You MUST Seek good/excellent Counsel to ensure that you are Represented accordingly. Thank you Attorneys, Brett Pritchard and Brent Sykora and the total Pritchard Law Firm. You guys took a lot of stress out of my life, and I will surely hire you again, should the need arise!!

"Simply put, if CPS is coming down the block, call Brett. He is an absolute master of the CPS courtroom. I have sent him clients on many occasions because I know Brett will fight like hell for them. Many times I have watched him make a complete fool out of CPS workers who don't know their own SOP manual, let alone follow it. Strongly recommended."
