My wife and I were referred to Martinez Legal about a year ago. I wanted to adopt my wife's children and have them as my own. We had an atypical stepchild adoption. The complications were that she was from a foreign country, plus her natural father wanted nothing to do with her and was himself difficult to locate. The international characteristic of this, even though it was a domestic adoption, got us a lot of passes from s...ome of the larger and more advertised family law firms. Frustrated, I sent out a blanket email to all family law attorneys in my area that I could find. Ms. Martinez responded and was willing to make this happen for us. She pressed this through and gave me ample notice of what I needed to have done before it was required. If I had another stepchild to adopt, I would certainly engage her for a repeat performance!

In total it took us about 6-7 months to go through the entire process. At times it felt like there were so many different parties (biological parent, case study worker, and the ad litem) involved but Marci did a wonderful job of being proactive and making sure everyone was staying on top of their different roles in the adoption so we could get it completed in a timely manner.
