I hired Gary Smart about 10 years ago through a recommendation from a church member. I was in a very tight legal situation out of Denton County after admitting to being partiality guilt to a crime and believing the detective would hold up to his promise to me of dropping the felony to a misdemeanor. The detective didn't hold up to it, however Attorney Smart was able to get them to change their mind and get me an extremely fair plea deal. The judge even told me "Son, you better be thankful that you hired such a great attorney, stop making dumbass decisions and get your life together".
