I hired Gary Smart about 10 years ago through a recommendation from a church member. I have consulted Gary Smart on several legal issues. He is prompt in responding and resolving the issue. I would hire him and have recommended him to family and friends.

Hired him to defend my son - he would have been better off with a public defender. Mr. Smart couldn't even pronounce my son's last name correctly and appeared to doze off twice during the jury trial. He was totally inept and unprofessional. My son spent two years in state prison and 10 years on proba...
I am not sure who this was from but I have a good idea. This case was tried in 2004. I am not sure why the mother waited 13 years to post a comment. I can assure you I did not sleep during the trial or even come close to dozing off. If anybody wants to go view the public record, they will see the client got a significantly lower sentence than the prosecutor had offered. The facts of the case made it a very difficult case to defend. The range of punishment was 2-20 years. I defended the case the best I could given the facts of the case. Anonymous, I would be more than happy to discuss the case further if you would like to contact my office
