Craig Patrick is an experienced and respected consumer attorney who has spent his entire 27-year legal career handling consumer warranty and fraud cases involving defective vehicles. Mr. Patrick, who was born in Dallas in 1971, attended Baylor University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1992, graduating magna cum laude. He then attended Baylor University School of Law, serving as an editor on the Baylor Law Review and he was published in that journal.
Mr. Patrick's unique background and extensive experience places him at the top of automobile warranty and fraud consumer attorneys nationwide, and is considered one of the most experienced consumer attorneys handling vehicle warranty and fraud claims against manufacturers. He graduated from Baylor Law School in 1995 and completed the Texas Bar Exam at the age of 23, and spent the first 10 years of his career primarily defending automobile and RV manufacturers. He then switched to the Plaintiff’s bar, and has spent the past 16 years exclusively representing consumers in warranty and fraud-based claims against auto and RV manufacturers. In his 26-year legal career, Mr. Patrick has handled over 1000 consumer claims on the defense side, and over 5000 claims on the plaintiff’s side, including numerous successful jury trials and appeals on both sides of the docket. Mr. Patrick passed the difficult California Bar Exam in 2008, and he maintains a docket of consumer cases in California, where hs is also admitted in all California Federal Districts. In 2017, Mr. Patrick was liscensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. To serve clients nationally, Mr. Patrick has been admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia, Eastern District of Michigan (auto manufacturers), and Northern District of Indiana (RV manufacturers).
He has represented owners of cars, trucks, rigs, fifth wheels, travel trailers, boats, motorcycles and manufactured homes against over 100 different manufacturers and has practiced throughout the State of Texas, where he is also admitted in all Federal District Courts. He has tried numerous cases (both jury and bench trials) to verdict in every region of Texas, including North Texas (Dallas, Tarrant and Parker County), East Texas (Smith, Anderson, Jasper and Bowie Counties), South Texas (Harris, Bexar, Jim Wells, and Jefferson Counties), and West Texas (Ector County). Mr. Patrick has successfully briefed and presented cases to the Courts of Appeals in Dallas, Texarkana, Houston, and San Antonio, and also argued a case successfully to the Texas Supreme Court, and has a second case pending in that court. Many of his appellate cases are important in the area of consumer law. Mr. Patrick has also successfully represented clients in numerous lemon law proceedings before the Texas Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Division.
Mr. Patrick has been involved in several class actions in California as well as Federal MDL in California. He has also held leadership positions in several consumer Texas State MDLs. In February 2015, he was appointed Co-Lead Plaintiffs’ Counsel of a Texas MDL styled IN RE: FORD MOTOR COMPANY 6.0L DIESEL ENGINE LITIGATION. In May 2016, he was appointed Lead Plaintiffs’ Counsel of a Texas MDL styled IN RE: VOLKSWAGEN CLEAN DIESEL LITIGATION: CONSUMER CASE. And, in March 2018, he was appointed Lead Plaintiffs’ Counsel of a Texas MDL styled IN RE: CHRYSLER-DODGE-JEEP ECODIESEL MARKETING, SALES PRACTICES, AND PRODUCTS LIABILITY LITIGATION.
Mr. Patrick is admitted to practice, and has handled cases, in the Northern, Western, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas, as well as the Northern, Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California. His practice is now exclusively dedicated to representing consumers in warranty and fraud cases against manufacturers involving defective cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, motor homes, travel trailers, and boats.
