Great lawyer

Had a DWI. No way I was going to win. I was really drunk and there was just no way out of it. Mr. Key got my report and video. We watched it together and he explained potential defenses and likelihood of winning. There was no way I was going to "win" but I think he got me was a win. I could have go...tten probation but after comparing probation to the short jail sentence I went with that. Saved me a lot of money and time. I checked at the jail and was done in just a little over 24 hours. It went exactly like he said. No classes, no community service, no monthly fees. I know I screwed up. I don't even drink that much normally. Jail's not a fun place to be but it was better than being on probation for a year and taking off work all of the time.

My experience with this attorney

I had an outstanding case from 2007. I was unaware of the charges against me and had not lived in Texas in over 5 years. As soon as I found out about the charges I hired an attorney to represent me. I had to go off of reviews such as the one I am giving. He immediately helped me, informed me of what ...the next steps were going to be and assured me everything was going to be okay. He started working on my case that night and kept me informed each step of the way. He did all he said he was going to do and more. I felt as if he had my best interest in mind every step of the way. He was extremely professional and a great attorney. He was also more than fair in what he charged. This case was settled quickly and I am happy with the outcome.

Great, Reliable, Trustworthy Attorney

Paul Key is definitely the lawyer to call when you're between a rock and a hard place. I was involved in an incident where an angry motorist pulled up beside me in the parking lot and brandished his weapon at me. I drew mine in response. He drove off, while I was on the phone with 911. The police... came and said he said he drew his weapon in self defense, and of course, because I'm a younger guy, they were siding with him. They told me either one of us would be charged or both of us - I had a CHL, by the way. All the other attorneys told me to wait to find out who would be charged. Paul Key was the only one who was proactive and argued on my behalf. They decided not to press charges against me. Shortly after that, an acquaintance of mine called CPS on me, because of this incident. I complained to the wrong person, I guess. Anyway, CPS showed up at my door. They wanted to do unannounced visits, even though there was no evidence of abuse or neglect. We called Paul Key. He contacted CPS and told them not to show up at our house anymore unless they had a warrant or could prove that our child was being abused or neglected. The result: no visits and a letter from them stating that they were closing the case.

Assault - Dismissed

This past summer I was charged with assault by my ex-wife. I was notified of this through a citation I received in the mail. This charge was brought against me during the time my ex-wife and I were going through the divorce. Being that I have no criminal record, nor have I ever been arrested, this ...charge was very unsettling to me. I needed to start my search for a defense attorney. I conducted this search and found many lawyers and testimonials soliciting their services. This too was overwhelming....how do I know which lawyer to hire and defend me? I was impressed with the reviews and information I found on Paul Key. I hired Paul without a recommendation from anyone. I called Paul on the phone and explained to him my situation. He then offered to meet me on a Saturday in his office to start the process. We met that day and multiple times after that in preparation for my court date. Any time I needed to talk with Paul he provided me his availability and we scheduled to meet. He never canceled a meeting with me nor did I ever feel rushed while meeting with him. In fact, one of our meetings was hours in length. He listened to me and provided a lot of great information, possibilities and recommendations in handling my case. I was encouraged by his knowledge, experience, and confidence. My court date arrived. Paul went to the courthouse and represented me in my absence. My presence was not required. Thirty minutes after my scheduled time, I receive a text message from Paul saying my case was dismissed and “it’s over”. These were words I had been waiting to hear for months! Along with the text was a picture of the document signed by the judge showing the dismissal. What an instant feeling of joy and relief. As I told him, it felt like my birthday 6 times over. I was innocent of the charge and happy the prosecuting attorney and judge saw that I was. Paul was instrumental in helping my charge be dismissed. Paul immediately sent me a follow-up text shortly after asking if I could talk. As we talked, he remained informative and explained all the necessary next steps. A lot of my future was pending on this assault charge. I needed someone to really represent me during this very emotional time. I would hire Paul again and appreciated his genuine professionalism!

"Paul is the type of lawyer who prosecutors hate to love. They hate him because he passionately defends his clients until he gets what he wants, but they love him because he does it with his wit and humor that makes it easy to give him what he wants. I am speaking as a former prosecutor who went against him for many years. Paul is a great lawyer."
