Daniel Robert Thering

We hired Daniel Thering in 2012 to help our daughter who was involved in an automobile accident, not her fault. He keeps saying she has money coming to her but has yet to collect. He doesn't respond back to our emails. We can't find him. The phone number listed is no longer in service. He has apparen...tly disappeared. We do not advise anyone to hire him.

WORST ATTORNEY!! It's already bad enough to resort to having to consult with an attorney for a legal matter, but then to have this attorney is an absolute nightmare! Mr. Thering is unprofessional, he does not return phone calls or emails. After our initial meeting/consultation he won my trust and see...med to be a caring individual. After taking my $800 retainer I did not hear from him for four months!! that's after many many many phones calls and emails. It was only until I stated I would consult with the state bar association that he responded to ONE email. It then took another month for me to get $400 back from my $800 retainer. He charged me $400 for absolutely nothing!! he never even touched my case and he never provided any proof or receipt if there was services done. I will still consult with the state bar association regarding this matter. Attorney's such as these give good attorney's a bad name. No one should be allowed to practice in ANY type of professional setting under false pretenses. If you are reading this please do yourself a favor and DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORNEY! If you care about your time and money then do not hire this attorney. Greed shouldn't be allowed to reek havoc on individuals who are already in delicate situations.

I hared Daniel in a personal injury case. He received the settlement a few years ago and has yet to pay me my full settlement. He sent a portion after a year of him cashing the check and for the last 2 years I have been calling and emailing with no response. I used CAAP to try to recover my settlemen...t funds but he did not respond to any of there notifications either.

I hired Daniel Thering to represent me on an open-and-shut personal injury settlement where medical treatment was complete and the other party had already accepted full responsibility. He received payouts from two different insurance companies, did not disclose the payments, gave me a check for < 5%... of the total (which bounced), and then went dark. He refuses to respond or account for the whereabouts of the money, and I have filed a grievance for professional misconduct with the State Bar of Texas, with additional legal action to follow when those sanctions are final. Stay far, far away from this person.
