I truly can’t say enough good things about Mark Lister. Going through a child custody case against a narcissistic ex was one of the hardest experiences of my life. I approached Mark partway through a custody battle. And while it's true that I was in a pinch, he was not my only option. Essentially, I ended up choosing between Mark and another, more experienced attorney. Cost was a factor in my decision, but not the deciding factor. I chose Mark because, as a... veteran myself, I trusted him when he said he would fight for me. That's what I needed, and that's what he did. First and foremost, Mark is extremely responsive, both in terms of his availability (returning calls, meeting, etc.) and his representation (understanding clients' needs, concerns, etc.). He's also not afraid -- this is a thing with some attorney's because they don't want to (excuse the expression) "crap where they eat". Mark was aggressive and went to bat for me despite it requiring him to sacrifice a bit of personal comfort. It's a quality that will serve him and his future clients well as he gains more experience and a knack for effective aggression. I think we both learned some valuable lessons during my case, which was hardly straightforward, and I consider our settlement a positive one.

Divorce wasn't so scary after all, it's definitely not fun by any means. There's a lot of emotions involved and Mark knew that. He allowed me to have those emotions, but also was a voice of reason once my emotions subsided. I am in the midst of finalizing my divorce and moving out of this state with my son (which was the goal!) and I couldn't imagine going through this experience with anyone else, but Mark and Lacey!
