Rob’s practice is devoted primarily to family law, including high conflict divorce, custody cases, complex property issues. Rob hopes to help and improve the lives of those in need during such a difficult time in their lives. As both an adopted child and a member of a blended family, Rob can provide a unique perspective in the practice of family law.

Rob currently is on the Board of Directors for the Family Law Section of the Dallas Bar Association. Rob is board-certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is also a member of the Annette Stewart American Inns of Court. Rob has been recognized in Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2016 through 2019, and recently The National Advocates recognized Rob as one of the Top 40 Under 40.

Rob received his bachelor’s degree cum laude and master’s degree from Baylor University and graduated cum laude from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. While in law school, Rob was both a student attorney and Chief Counsel in the SMU Civil Clinic, as well as an intern for the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office. Rob was also on the Science and Technology Law Review, the Civil Rights National Moot Court team, and held positions as both a class representative and SMU Law Senator with the Student Bar Association.

Rob demonstrated great professionalism and an awareness of the situation I was facing with custody for my son Justin Jr. He was a very strong advocate and very gracious with me in working with me because financial hardship. I got the desired outcome for my son as I have sole custody at this time. I will look forward to using his services again in the future as we work to seek permanent residence and custody as well as recommending his services to any family and friend that may be in need of his services.

The best
Rob sat with me and truly listen to all my issues. He knew how to handle it right away, so I hired him. Any time I had a questing or a concern he responded right away. He pick me up when I was struggling thru the process. He work hard and made sure it went according to plan. He was with me every step of the way and made sure everything got finalised. You will not find a better person to defend, protect you or support you then rob. He truly has your back when no one else does.

The BEST sleep in months
Our situation was unique and after being unable to find a resolution, we retained the counsel of Mr. McAngus. I have never had to go before a judge for anything other than a ticket. The stakes were high and I was in uncharted territory. For almost 2 months he and his staff saw me every step of the way. I have not been able to rest well because of this situation for months. Last night I slept like a baby. He can not work miracles and if you are doing something to hurt your case he will call you on it. But Rob will always call, meet or offer to because he honestly cares. If you want the truth and care about your most precious gift of family Rob feels the same way

Superb experience
This review is way overdue, but Rob McAngus and his team were excellent in helping me finalize my divorce. He kept me in the loop as to what steps I would need to take to get everything done, and helped get things finalized in a timely manner. I would absolutely recommend him and his firm to anyone!

Robert McAngus is a wonderful lawyer!
Mr. McAngus was my lawyer and represented me for divorce and custody. He kept me informed every step of the way, answered every question I had! representation with integrity
When I first met Rob he told me he would do everything he could to help me achieve the outcome I desired for my divorce and custody of my children. During the entire process he communicated with me at every step. I was quoted a fee early on and when my spouse dragged things out and threw many obstacles in the way, Rob assured me that all would be fine. Not only did he win my desired outcome, He was able to help me achieve an outcome I never dreamed possible. He also charged me the fee that we agreed to even though he could have done what other lawyers would have done and took advantage of me. If you need a lawyer call this guy right now!!!! there are still people in this world that keep their word. Thanks Rob!

Diligent, Dedicated, Compassionate Lawyer
My title may read as though I was paid to endorse him, or possibly that I am confused and could not be writing this for a lawyer - understand these words barely cover all the bases. Through this very difficult time Mr. Angus guided me wisely through the legalities of my divorce. Mr. McAngus recognized as a stay-at-home, military wife I had a lot to lose. My divorce took a few weeks shy of a year to bring to a close, Robert diligently followed up with the opposing counsel, kept me abreast of all new developments. Mr. McAngus counseled and informed me of the any unreasonable requests I made and suggested fair alternatives. I was married in a different state than where my divorce took place, an usual situation and rather difficult when attempting to verify jurisdiction. Robert did his due diligence in researching and arguing my case. Our case was fairly assessed and I gained more than I expected. Though I did not agree ,at the time, with all his suggestions (emotionally muddled brain), I can fairly and honestly state my lawyer was always professional, ethical and looked out for my best interest. If you are researching Robert S. McAngus you are on the right track.

A Talented, Caring Attorney
Mr. McAngus recently represented me in a temporary orders hearing, etc. He is skilled in the courtroom, arrives prepared, and he is very easy to work with and communicate with. He is encouraging, and shows that he really cares about people.

Rob McAngus is a class act!
Mr. McAngus was very professional and extremely helpful. My ex-wife wasn't paying her ordered child support and Mr. McAngus took the necessary steps to ensure I received my payments. He gave me several different options and was upfront with me about which option I could take that would not only help me get my rightful payments, but that wouldn't cost me a lot of money out of pocket. I would highly recommend Rob McAngus to anyone in need of an excellent attorney.

Legal Help
I was struggling with a college lease agreement, and did not know what to do. I received a letter from the company stating that I owed money. I wanted some legal advice. My mom and I wanted to speak with someone who could help us, and she thought about Mr. Robert McAngus. We told Rob what our situation was dealing with and he took care of the situation immediately. He was very confidential, informative, knowledgeable, and he handled my case in a timely matter. Rob was comfortable to speak with and was a awesome listener. If I needed anymore legal assistance he would be the first lawyer I will contact because he handles each case with most respect and confidence.

Outstanding Attorney and very Personable!

I hired Rob after another lawyer failed to gat back to me when my dads house sold. Rob was able to make it a top priority to get the estate to Probate so we could close on the house and not lose a buyer. He has always returned my calls, texts and emails in a timely manner and I appreciate him making me feel like a priority.
