If you have but one choice for a divorce lawyer, it should be Josh Mathews and his team! I got slapped with divorce papers before I could turn around and catch my breath. I was hurt, anger, devastated but at 61, I wasn’t going to let this event define me. I search the internet, read the reviews, and ...looked at the results versus the hype. I picked Josh because the lion’s share of the reviews said he went the extra mile. I needed an advocate for my side. It wasn’t always easy Josh gives tough love. His frankness can seem harsh, but he explains why and goes into detail about the range of outcomes. His staff is exceptional. Particularly outstanding was Amber’s genuine concern, caring and commitment. She let me vent in daily emails, she called me on weekends if need be. Amber showed she cared. It was not some hyperbole of a slick ad like you see in another firm. It was honest, decent and although I didn’t always hear what I wanted, I heard what I needed. Josh has the money side of this mess, down to a science. I knew exactly what worse case, best case was and where I most likely would end up. In the end as one reads this, it is about results. Josh pulverized opposing counsel. He was prepared, organized and stayed on point. He clearly won the day. While the emotional toll isn’t something lawyers can help with, knowing I won’t continue to pay for something I didn’t really want (a divorce), I can go into another relationship with peace of mind. Wow, sitting here reading the reviews and I feel like I'm looking through a crystal ball. Much like all of the other one star reviews, Joshua dropped the ball in my case after I paid the "flat rate" fee for my divorce. I'm pretty sure he or his staff are writing the glowing reviews. DO NOT trust thi...s man with something as important as your FAMILY! I wish I would've listened to my instincts but I was desperate in my divorce and this man takes advantage of people who are vulnerable! He gives you great attention in your free consultation but as soon as you sign, your stuck with his high turnover paralegals who aren't qualified to advise you. He rarely returns your phone calls or responds to emails but when you finally do get him on the phone he lets you know how irritated he is with you and all of your questions. And then justifies his "flat fee" by the work his unqualified paras do! Which is pretty much secretarial work! He dropped the ball. He sat on my case for so long that I my ex was able to use it to their advantage and won custody of my child! He is worthless. Please spare yourself the heartache and go with ANYONE else.

My sister hired Mr. Mathews to represent her in her child custody matter. He is very professional and kindhearted. He took my sister under his wing and guided her through her whole case, taking time after hours to call and discuss with her matters pertaining to her case. He went above & beyond in rep...resenting her, to make her feel calm & reassured. Me. Joshua Mathews recently represented my wife and I in an adoption proceeding. My wife's ex-husband had been out of the picture for a long time so I was doing a stepparent adoption. Unfortunately my wife's ex showed up at the first hearing and started making things really difficult. We knew that t...he adoption was right for our daughter, especially since I'm the only one she has ever called "Daddy." Her real dad was gone before she could speak. But we were worried because Josh had done our case really cheap not expecting it to be a fight. Even though it is a flat fee we knew that if things changed they might have to charge us extra. Josh knew that we didn't have the money to fight this, and any other attorney would have quit. But Josh stayed on the case and continued to fight. The thing ended up lasting 8 months and we actually offered to pay them more money when our tax return came in. Josh told us not to worry about it and ended up winning the case. I know that a lot of people are going to be unhappy in these kinds of cases and they might try to blame their lawyers. But I can tell you from experience that Josh and the rest of the office really cared about us.

My husband and I consulted Mr. Mathews on a tax issue. We were very stressed out and ready to pay any amount to get help with the matter. Mr. Mathews to a half hour of his time and explained to us how simple it would be for us to resolve the matter ourselves. He could have charged us $1500.00 and... done the same thing himself in 45 minutes but he was up front and honest and gave us the exact steps to solve the problem ourselves. He didn't even charge for the consultation. I hope I don't need one but if I do, I will go back to Mr Mathews.
