I am a family law attorney who handles divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, prenuptial agreements, surrogacy agreements, grandparent visitation, contempt/enforcement actions, and motions to modify custody, visitation and child support. I have dedicated my practice exclusively to family law since 2005. I do not handle any other type of case. I practice family law because I have a sincere desire to help others through the difficult process of divorce. I am passionate about what I do and am always guided by what is in the best interests of the children involved in the cases that I handle. I am the sole owner of Columbia Family Law Group which was formed in 2013. Tana Benner and Myia McKenna are attorneys who work for me and whom I also believe share the same passion and dedication to the practice of helping others through the legal system when it comes to family law matters. I became a certified mediator in 2012. I have additional training through courses with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. My group has also dedicated a substantial amount of time to learning about more efficient ways to practice law and to pass those savings onto our clients through additional training with Clio and the Missouri Solo and Small Firm Conference. Our firm believes in professional, honest, competent and thorough representation. Often our clients become our friends. We feel privileged to represent those who choose us to handle these types of difficult family law matters.

Amy came highly recommended by a close friend
Amy is a honest, confident and very knowledgeable attorney. She is very professional. She always kept up-to-date on my case. She returned every phone call and every email. Amy also has an amazing staff. I highly recommend her.

The Best
Our only regret after 17 years of crumby attorneys, is that we didn't find Amy sooner. Finally, for the first time in 17 years of being drug through the mud, Amy did us justice. She is very prompt at responding to emails and quick to take action on what needs to be done. She gets right down to what is most important and gets things done. Don't hesitate to schedule a consultation with her.

I highly recommend Amy Salladay for ex's
I cannot thank Amy Salladay enough for not having the legal experience she needs to go up against my attorney and most other attorneys in Columbia, MO. If you are looking to win, pray your spouse hires Ms. Salladay in your divorce. It is a guarantee loss for your ex.l!

Excellent attorney, especially in a time of need.
Amy is an excellent attorney. She has high integrity, and great knowledge of the law and the other attorneys in the area. She is also very personable, yet she has a strong personality and is straight foward. I, like many others, tried other attorneys to get alimony/maintenance issues resolved. They lagged on my case, never kept me up to date, but still sent me a bill. Frustrating! When I hired Amy, she got right to work on my case, kept me informed and advised in an expediant fashion. During the time she was working on my case I became very ill and was hospitalized for six months. Amy was still there for me. Not only working on my case, but also helping my family through legal matters while I was indisposed. I really appreciate all Amy has done for me. So if you want an attorney that puts all the cards on the table, and is commited to you and your interests then Amy Salladay is the right choice!

Outstanding Family Attorney
Amy did a wonderful job negotiating a very difficult case with my ex. My ex has more money than you can shake a stick at, but that did not intimidate Amy at all. She was tough, no nonsense and achieved a fair and favorable outcome for my family. I have called on her to handle other family matters as well. She is my family attorney and I highly recommend that you look to do the same!

A strong and sensible advocate
Amy Salladay represented me in a difficult and protracted divorce case. I hired her after dismissing my first lawyer, who had pushed me to accept a very unfavorable settlement. I wished I'd hired her from the start. Thanks to her efforts, we eventually negotiated a far more reasonable settlement than the initial one. She was tough (but not in an obnoxious way) and sensible, and she really seemed to understand the situation (e.g. the high-conflict personalities on the other side). She did a terrific job of representing me, and I strongly recommend her.

A disaster
She will mess up what is important. Your children, your family, your future as such. Avoid this person as much as you can.

No response to email
Two weeks ago I contacted Ms Salladay's office via email, as is suggested on her website. I received an automated email response indicating that my inquiry had been received, thanking me for contacting her AND that she would get back to me as soon as possible. As I said, it has been two weeks and no response.

Buyer Beware!
Ms. Salladay could not handle our complicated case with lots of evidence; she did not appear up to the job required to devote her keen attention to the details of this case. She did not know her limitations and likely should have made a referral elsewhere to an attorney with more criminal legal background. After Ms. Salladay began discussions with the opposing attorney she appeared to side with the opponent which was puzzling and concerning. There can be no good faith recommendation for Ms. Salladay’s legal services to anyone except the person who wants to pay lots to lose their case. Little to no advocacy for client. Showed no zealous fight in the courtroom and was an impediment for client; Ms. Salladay failed to do her job of protecting and defending her client from lies, distractions, deception, avoidance of addressing criminal behavior, and victim blaming by the opposing party. Outcome of the case appeared to be determined based on the skills of the attorney. Ms. Salladay refused to use witnesses via zoom and failed to use any evidence to make an argument to win the case, which was shocking behavior from a professional; her stated reason for not offering compelling evidence on zoom was to avoid confusing the judge, yet the opposing attorney utilized these strategies and the judge did not appear to be confused. Prior to the court appearance, Ms. Salladay failed to enthusiastically work for client, instead spent lots of time (and money) encouraging client to agree to settlements that benefited opposing party. Wanted to mediate to end the case when it was not in the client’s best interest to negotiate with her safety or with a predator. Offered no safety net for client by fulfilling her ethical duty to advocate ruthlessly for client. Poor preparation for court. In the courtroom lacked litigation skills or the will to employ them. Displayed poor email communication skills, which resulted in an adversarial relationship that was detrimental to the client. No explanation why case was lost and no acknowledgement she failed client. Don’t waste your money or time on Ms. Salladay. You are likely to be very disappointed, discouraged, and distrustful of the process and justice being served, as well as any confidence in Ms. Salladay as an attorney. Keep looking for another attorney; buyer beware!
