Biography
Jill Bollwerk graduated in the top 5% of her class with a BA degree in Radio-Television from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in 1987. She earned her law degree from St. Louis University School of Law in 1991.
Jill is admitted to practice before all Missouri and Illinois state courts, the Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District, the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Southern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Ms. Bollwerk began her law career representing injured individuals in automobile and premises liability litigation, workers' compensation matters and in Social Security Disability appeals for two prominent St. Louis plaintiff's firms. She also spent a brief period of time working as a trial attorney for a major insurance company.“After 10 years of practice, she started her own firm, where she dedicated her career to representing injured individuals. The firm is now known as Bollwerk & Associates, LLC.”
Jill has been trying cases before various tribunals for the more than three decades. She has handled countless jury trials, bench trials, workers' compensation hearings, and Social Security hearings, and she has briefed and argued many appeals before both state and federal appeals courts as well as before the Missouri Labor & Industrial Relations Commission.
Her legal memberships include the Missouri Bar, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA--Member, Board of Governors), the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA), the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, the Workers' Injury Law & Advocacy Group, The Women Lawyers Association of Greater St. Louis, and the Lawyers Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. Jill has volunteered her time with various programs sponsored by The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and MATA. Jill has received an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest given by that organization. She has also been recognized as a SuperLawyer for years, and since 2023, she has been listed as one of the Top 50 Women Attorneys in Missouri and Kansas.
A lifelong resident of St. Louis, Ms. Bollwerk and her husband, Andy, live in South St. Louis County and they have two adult children of whom they are very proud, as well as two adorable granddaughters. When not at work, Jill enjoys spending time with family, swimming, weight training, hiking, theatre and live music.

There are so many hidden issues that need to be explored in car accident cases. What are the insurance policy limits? Does the health insurer or workers comp carrier get reimbursed? How do I deal with Medicare? I deal with these issues at the beginning of my client's cases.
For over three decades, I have been fighting for the rights of injured workers. I have seen just about every injury and just about every employer tactic you can think of---nothing surprises me! I have seen it all!
I am nuts about dogs! But when a dog seriously hurts a person, I feel it is the owner's fault--not the dog's fault. I pursue these cases against dog owners and help to uncover insurance that might apply to these cases.
I have handled many motorcycle crash cases, and several have tragically resulted in death. Motorcycle cases are tricky, and it is important to have an attorney that understands the special issues related to motorcycles.
I have handled several multi-million dollar trucking cases. Crashes involving trucks are very different than car crash cases, and it is important to understand the trucking industry in order to properly handle such large cases.
