Erin K Duncan

Erin is a Supervising Attorney at Prairie State Legal Services, a nonprofit law firm seeking to ensure equal access to justice and fair treatment for low-income, elderly and vulnerable people. Erin focuses on client service in the areas of health, safety, and financial stability and supervises legal work of other attorneys and paralegals. She practices in McLean, Livingston, and Woodford Counties, Illinois.

Erin previously practiced in the State of Oregon, where her work focused on family law, including adoption, divorce and separation, custody, parenting plans, protective orders, and guardianship. She also had experience in general civil litigation and business law, including nonprofit incorporation.

Erin is a diligent advocate in court and is also trained in negotiation, helping clients realize their goals through creative problem solving. With her legal expertise and calm guidance, Erin helps people manage difficult transitions and achieve stability. 

Erin graduated with honors from Lewis & Clark Law School in May 2013. Before joining the Reynolds Law Firm from October 2014 to June 2021 she served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Jay A. McAlpin at Lane County Circuit Court in Eugene, Oregon.

During law school Erin earned a certificate in public interest law with a focus on civil rights. She worked as a law clerk for the Oregon Law Center and as an intern for the Lewis & Clark Legal Clinic in Portland, Oregon.

Erin has been actively involved in community work including as Vice President of the Board of Promise Council (Bloomington, IL), former Chair of the McLean County Housing Coalition, and former Chair of the Advocacy Committee of women’s service organization the Zonta Club of Corvallis. She has a special interest in domestic implementation of human rights norms and has volunteered with Human Rights in Childbirth, the Community Alliance of Tenants, the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence, and other nonprofit organizations.
