SAPO legal advice

I met with Liz to find help navigating a restraining order specific to sexual abuse. Liz and her colleague Amy were both so helpful and insightful, and I attribute their help to my success in winning my case. They were both very empathetic to me and guided me through what my hearing process would loo...k like, and answered all of my questions as well as providing me with answers to questions I didn’t think to ask beforehand. I didn’t end up needing to hire representation, but I wouldn’t hesitate to ask Liz to represent me in court if I needed a lawyer.

Child Custody Case

Liz, helped me navigate a complicated zip code spanning case. She was able to help me attain my motion to change Venue, and got me everything else that I asked for. She was efficient and very detailed, my family is super grateful. Yes, I would highly recommend her, and her services!

Professional

Carle was smart, professional, and fair. She helped us with a legal agreement and made certain that both parties had their own interests met.

I wouldin't reconmend her

I would not reconmend her to anyone cause she's not very helpful or worth the money. She said she can help me but instead she caused more problems. All she cared about is money, she told me one price and said thats all she is going to need but a week later she asked for more and would not show wher...e the money was going. She was never on time to any court hearings or she had some excuse for not being their . Which is why i would not reconmend her cause you cannot trust her along with depend on her .

I will refer readers to my response in the above-listed review. Additionally, The Reynolds Law Firm has long had a policy of billing to a client's retainer account and we provide the client each month with a detailed billing record of how all time (billing on the .1 hour) was spent. We also advise all clients that is it our policy not to charge them for time spent to answer billing questions, should they chose to ask those questions. As is the case with most family law firms, we use a retainer agreement which explains all of our billing practices and how a retainer account, which gets depleted, must be replenished. It is true that many people who retain a lawyer are a bit shocked by the cost of litigation. That is why I always try to help my clients use my services in the most efficient way possible so their valuable resources are not wasted. Still, when drafting complicated parenting plans to cover a variety of possible circumstances, it is critically important that we take the time to get it right because that plan will become the rule governing my client's parenting time for years to come. I expect that every 10-year attorney has experienced the nightmare of missing a Court appearance at least once. I do not recall what is referred to herein, but I am not above making that mistake. Although our firm has redundancy around scheduling matters so that this doesn't occur, inevitably it is a risk of the trade. However, since I began appearing in court almost 28 years ago, I have learned to be 15 minutes early, when I am actually aware of the schedule appearance.

Filed an Oregon State Bar complaint.

My opinion is that Liz Carle of Reynolds Law Firm in Corvallis, Oregon focused the overwhelming bulk of her efforts on a doomed divorce trial, versus advising to negotiate and settle (a more realistic option due to economic and other constraints she'd known well in advance of withdrawal). $23,000... in ~2.5 months…then she quit in third month – with 1 day notice and citing reasons I disputed to Oregon State Bar, along with other complaints. I have nothing to show for this work, because it was virtually all towards a divorce trial. Divorce temporary orders were settled by the Court; so it was all a waste of time, energy, and funds. I had to attend a recent status check with no representation, and the judge just set another status check for 2 months. So divorce is far from over. Reynolds Law Firm refused to acknowledge error on their part but did erase my outstanding balance when I complained I felt my attorney’s actions were negligent and left me in a worse position than I started. I can’t get back the time, nor $9,300 paid already. I needed a Corvallis attorney wise enough to help me figure out a course of action that works for my situation. I didn't get that at all, and now I am too broke to get another lawyer, meanwhile my spouse's attorney's bill is higher than needed, too. The above is my opinion based on my experience. I strongly recommend to keep looking if you are in need of someone who can help you.

I will not publicly comment on a case in a manner that could hurt a former client, but here are some things that people should know about me. I am hardworking, well-prepared, and do not cut corners. I always try to settle cases. Sometimes the other party or attorney refuse to participate in settlement negotiations, and in those cases there is no choice but to go to trial. Attorney-client relationships work best when clients and attorneys are honest with each other. Knowing all of the facts of a case upfront (with accurate documentation where it exists) impacts strategy and decisions about how to proceed. There are several factors that can drive up the costs in a case but I also work hard with my clients to advise them if I believe they are wasting my time or their funds by pursing fruitless efforts. I try to encourage efficiency and remind them how not to waste their money with me by repeating themselves or using me for an emotional release. I am honest and straightforward with clients. I always listen to my clients with high regard for their priorities. We talk about options, both in terms of risk/benefit analysis, but also in terms of cost. Clients decide how to proceed in the case. So long as their choices are ethical, will not directly harm the case, and won't hurt their children, I will follow the client's wishes.
