I first came to this country when I was 10 years old from India along with my family. At the time, I was far too young to know or appreciate the significance of the experience that I was facing. I knew only that I wanted to see snow.
Quickly as I moved, I realized that there were so many things that were new and different about the United States. I started asking questions about our own traditions and learning more deeply about myself and my heritage through these questions. Like many young immigrants, I was also bullied by some classmates. These experiences made an impact and made me respect and honor the journey that immigrants face when they decide to move from a place and country that is familiar to a place and country that is entirely new.
I decided to go to law school because to me, learning the law was very empowering. Through the legal system, we get the protections and the rights that are provided to each individual in the United States. However, until we learn it, it seems scary and difficult to comprehend. I wanted to understand the legal system to learn the rules of our country.
After graduating from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, I realized that I needed to help empower other immigrants who are also faced with the enormous challenge and possibilities opened by moving to a new and unfamiliar country.
To this day, it is this passion that drives me each and every day. Watching my clients succeed gives me strength. To this success, I am committed. I am also committed to creating the type of law firm that supports clients in achieving their immigration goals and looks beyond just an “application” or a “case” but in context of the individuals for whom the case is handled. One that makes immigrants feel accepted, honored, and empowered. With this in mind, I decided to name my law firm, SwagatUSA. “Swagat” means “welcome” in Sanskrit.
Passionate about immigration law and assisting immigrants in achieving their goals. I believe that there are no simple immigration cases and every immigration case begins with a STRATEGY. See my video introduction: ?v=OZ-ms-1V3C0

Professional and great
I contacted Dhenu last minute for help with my brother's immigration interview and she was so helpful and flexible. She accommodated us in every way and communicated with us promptly and efficiently. My brother received his green card this week. Great experience overall.
Thank you for the kind words.

Same-sex Marriage-based Green Card Application
My same-sex partner, who is from France, and I hired Dhenu for assistance with our marriage-based green card application. For the most part, the process went smoothly and his permanent residency was granted in mid-August 2014. Dhenu was helpful and knowledgeable, but attention to detail was sometimes...
Moreover, with your student addresses in multiple countries, we had to ensure that the dates and addresses were perfectly entered. This did cause a little delay, but well worth it in the end, we believe.

Total disappointment and a ripoff
I am amazed at what others have to say about Attorney Dhenu Savla. Your review list does not include the review of one " ma la" even who, in my view, was generous when he/she said that Ms Dhenu was " not OK for complex cases." Mine was a very simple case. I had submitted my green card application bu...
Mr. Rai's case was held up in immigration background checks. Sometimes this happens when the case is misplaced, and sometimes it is for genuine concerns. We believe that we tried our level best to try to un-stick the matter. We have thoroughly reviewed all the actions we have taken and determined that our actions in every respect were correct and measured. In other words, there is nothing we could determine that we would do differently if done today. Unfortunately, the cases stuck in background checks are not entirely up to the attorney to unstick. Mr. Rai was properly informed that the next step is to file a mandamus action in federal court. I still hope he goes forward with that and wish him the best of luck.
