About Robert

Biography

We are experienced, effective immigration attorneys practicing with an emphasis on removal defense, appellate work on removal orders, federal suits for visa denials (APA actions), & family-based petitions. We also provide consulting and brief writing services to other immigration lawyers and firms.

We believe families belong together, and in the promise of America. We've practiced Immigration & Nationality Law at the highest levels, often making new law in front of the Board of Immigration Appeals, the US Federal District Courts and the US Courts of Appeals.

Asylum often requires litigation. We will construct your affirmative asylum case with the same meticulous care we bring to the table for defensive asylum, withholding of removal and CAT claims in front of the immigration courts with defensive applications.

Our immigration system is unjust. We are not hesitant to utilize our federal courts to ensure our clients aren't the recipient of bias, bullying or wrong applications of the law, most often with Mandamus Petitions and APA Actions for the government not following its own regulations and directives.

Can't say enough good things about Carpenter and Cap!

Mr. Carpenter is a terrific lawyer and a wonderful human being. He worked on our daughter's asylum case for 5 years and never gave up on her or her difficult situation. He put together a brilliant case, going to great lengths to reassure and prepare her. He puts his heart into his work, because he wa...nts to make a difference. And he does. We recommend him highly, thoroughly, and without hesitation.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
