We were referred to Joan by the Metropolitan Tenants Organization. We were dealing with a management company that was ignoring the City of Chicago ordinances and doing what ever they wanted. The rent was always paid, the condo was very well maintained, there was no reason for these entities to behave... the way they did. Joan did some research and found other more serious violations we were not aware of. We attempted to work it out with the management company but it was clear they were both ignorant and unwilling to work with us. At that point we contacted Joan again and asked for her help to stop the illegal eviction threats. We met with Joan and we had a couple of important questions. It took a while because the management company and condo association ignored repeated requests to respond.
