Ms. Suzanne von Leuschner

Jill was the most effective attorney I have met in Chicago. She taught me how to present a case that I was losing Pro Se. Even the Public Guardian was wrong and we saved my daughter who then graduated (early) HS as the top construction & automotive student@ a good HS, combining both her mother & fa...ther's wishes.

Fair, confident, tough & knowledgeable Chicago-based super Lawyer

SUMMARY Very sharp and experienced, strong negotiator, aggressive yet diplomatic, strategic, respectful, compassionate, dynamic confident, honest, client-oriented, creative, positive, problem-solver, encouraging, always courteous, thorough, organized and prompt. REVIEW People don't get married ...thinking they'll be getting divorced. So when my eighteen year marriage fell apart and the divorce was filed, I was lost. A friend who works in the Leal profession recommended Jill and other four Attorneys to me. I called all of them. When I called Jill, I retained her services immediately. Jill knows the ins and outs of the legal system extremely well specifically in Family Law. Furthermore, with over twenty years of experience, she knows many Judges in Chicago and, based on past trials, she has a good idea on how they tend to rule. She also knows lots of other Lawyers, their firms and their approach as well. Jill's very knowledgeable in every aspect to every question and concern I had addressed. And if she didn't know the answer to highly specific questions, Jill did her research and provided me with an accurate response. Jill was always very prompt in getting back to me to answer any issue or concerns that I had. She's able to address such a personal and emotional matter as a divorce at a highly professional level. At Court in front of the Judge and with my ex-spouse Lawyers, Jill always exercised the appropriate protocols and guided me to ensure I did the same. She's very good at taking the high-road during tense moments when other Attorneys had unfair demands or used colorful language. Jill excels under pressure while not deviating from our goal to get a fair resolution. Anna B. Tondelli is Jill's Paralegal. Anna was very polite, effective, excellent and responded immediately upon my attempt to reach her. Followed instructions exactly as I indicated then to be. Always pleasant and professional. In closing, Jill will provide the type of support needed in a very complex and complicated process full of emotional tensions and uncertainties.

Highly Recommend Jill Peters

I worked with Jill Peters for a year and a half through a complicated divorce. I found Jill to be compassionate, knowledgable and astute on everything from the nuances of various judges to the legal intricacies of crafting an agreement that provided my children with every advantage they deserved thr...ough this difficult and emotional time. Jill was an absolute financial wizard armed with sophisticated technical knowledge and superior analytical and quantitative skills that enabled me to achieve the outcome I desired in a settlement that was ultimately amenable to both parties. Divorce is a process where some fires need to be fought more immediately than others based upon timing and even random human actions that impact others' safety and security. If Jill wasn't available, service remained seamless due to the accessibility of her staff. I trust Jill Peters and would highly recommend her to anyone facing the tough decision to get a divorce. She was attentive, sympathetic and surprised me with her ability to remember and cite details that were critical to my case during challenging times.

Recommendation for Jill M Peters

I was involved in very long, frustrating, complicated and difficult divorce that ultimately resulted in sole custody of our three children being awarded to me. Ms. Peters worked hard for me, was agressive when she needed to be and worked well with the judge, who I always believed saw her as the vo...ice of reason. She was leveled headed, responded to my calls and emails, always, listened and was knowledgeable of the law. I was never afraid to call about even the smallest issue. I recommend Ms. Peters highly.

Waste of time and money

I spent over half of my retainer and then had to hire another attorney because Jill was always "on trial" and unable to meet deadlines that she herself offered. We had the same conversations over again because so much time would pass in between when we talked and when she was supposed to produce the ...resulting paperwork. Be sure to ask if she has time for your case before hiring her.

It is dissapointing that my client's expectations were not met in this case in the month and a half after being retained. It certainly was not without a sincere and signfiicant effort to put together a settlement offer within that time. It is important to set deadlines and expectations together, and to understand that divorce is a process that involves discovery and negotiation. While it is possible to get divorced within a short amount of time, do not be discouraged or disappointed if it does not proceed to settlement within a month Divorce is a difficult practice and while I pride myself on reaching settlment in 90% of my cases, trials are demanding.
